Name for baby girl Hi, I haven't seen a thread for awhile with suggestions for girl names other than the one for fairy tale names. I have checked out several sites for names, but some of them don't seem to be updated. I thought I was getting a male yorkie and had the name picked out. When I went to look at the babies, I ended up deciding on a girl. She comes home in two weeks. I have one Yorkie girl and her name is Isabella. I am considering the name Joley, but would like to find something I like better. I know it is only a name, but I want one that I really like. I am open to suggestions if you would like to give me any ideas. Thanks. :aimeeyork Isabella :animal36 Bandit :animal36 Sawyer |
I love the name Kenna. If I were to get another little girl, thats what I'd name her. I also Love Carson, Willow & Jersey.:p |
Do you have a picture? I really like Joley. If you don't like the name mabye change the spelling to see if it suites you better, Jolie. Or Josie, Jade, Jazzie. What ever you decide, congrats on the new baby. Can't wait to see a picture. |
I like Lola, Molly, Mindy to name a few! Picking the perfect name is so much fun. |
What kind of names do you like? Classic? Trendy? Ultra feminine? Short and cute? Will go through my name book and make a couple of lists if you give me an idea of what you have in mind? I have a great name book called "Beyond Jennifer and Jason, Madison and Montana" it has some really cool categories instead of just listing a ton of names alphabetically which can make your head hurt after awhile! What are your hobbies? Do you like old classic books, hollywood starlets, a twilight fan, euro history (that's how I picked the theme for my two!) give me some feedback and I will search for you and make a list based on that!! It helps to get something you really like! |
Being a euro history fan I can give you one name based on the fact that you have one baby named isabella! Queen Catherine who was Henry of England's first wife was from Spain and her mother's name was Isabella. When she lived in Spain her name was "Catalina" and then she changed it to "Catherine." I love the name "Catalina" and think it works well with Isabella! You could even shorten it to "Cat", "catie" or "cate" in my opinion names should work well together! While I love the name "Joley" it doesn't match the regalness of Isabella! So I would look for something that's equally feminine and regal for #2. that's just me though! |
Also are you a fan of any foreign countries? Any particular movies? Any cities/places in the US? Details like that help too!! |

I do not have favourites as it has always been hard for me to decide even naming my male yorkie (my husband named it) but here are a few names that come to my mind which are unique: Karolina, Andi, Dasie, Angie... I am not good at this.. i hope you pick a name which will suite your baby girl. Congratulations! |
I also like the name Willow, very cute! I also like Lola, Annie, Jazz, Kenzie, etc. So many to list! |

The names that seem to appeal to me besides Joley, is Kobi, Taylor and Jade. I like a name that can have a nickname. eg Joley-Jojo Kobi- Kob- Koko Jade-JJ Taylor- hmmm can't think of a good nick name I like for that one. The only hobbie I have is card making and stamping. |

I love Dasie, but I have two close friends with dogs with that name. If I name mine that we would never know which Daisie we were talking about. Thanks for the suggestions. |

I like your daughters name. Do you call her Presley or shorten it. I do like Sadie, but my husband doesn't. I am trying to let him have a say in it, too, but I will probably make the final suggestion. Thank you very much for the list of names, that was very nice of you to do that. |
No problem!! Yes we call her Presley and I like it because its very girlie and not overly used!! Let me know if you need any more lists! Would be glad to keep looking for you! Can't wait to hear what you pick as the final name for this sweet and lucky little girl! Talk to you soon! |
Oh we do shorten Presley on occassion we call her Pressie!! |
I'm laughing at my napoleon who was named after the little french leader with a big attitude! He is definitely NOT little and probably should have been named Hank or Bubba!! LOL. Check out his new pictures on my page! |
I was given a little blind maltese and have named her McKenzie. I really like that but also considered Ladybug and Annabelle. |

Isabella thinks she is as big as a mountain lion. She was chasing the outside cat the other day. That was scary. |

Do you call her by her full name? |
I like Paris it fits a yorkie but my new favorite name is Larka its the she wolves name in a book im reading in the book it says the wolves translate the name to mean: First fallin snow |
my daughter's name is jazlyn - i came up with it cus i couldn't decide between jocelyn (which i heard in a movie) and jasmine (from the disney movie alladin). so, when thinking it over - i kept saying aloud in my head, jocelyn, jasmine, jocelyn, jasmine, jocelyn, jasmine..... and somehow i thought of the name...JAZLYN - a mixture of jasmine (jas) but with a "z" and jocelyn (lyn). i LOVE my daughter's name - six years later. it's so unique and everyone compliments her on what a beautiful name she has. |
