So glad to hear Pixie came out of it a-okay! She will be in your arms in NO time! ;) |
So glad Pixie is ok. Hope she has a speedy recovery and is back to her old self soon. When my little ones had their teeth removed I just soaked some hard food for a couple of days until their little mouths were healed up. Hugs to you both. :D |
I was just checking for an update! Thinking of you, Joyce and Pixie! I hope she is home with you now...or very soon! *HUG* |
3 Attachment(s) Pixie is finally home, I fed her dinner in her bed bc she is still a little groggy. I have her all set up in a comfy bed and if I go to a different room I just carry the whole bed, like the princess in the pea! She is so pathetic though with her groaning and her hair on her head is real greasy. I gave her a bath yesterday I can't believe that her head is so greasy. Maybe it is from the anesthisia. Her eyes are real runny too, did anyone else expierence that? I am glad that she ate dinner and drank. I am hoping that will make her feel better. poor baby:( |
Ohhhhhhhh the poor baby . . .:( Give her extra lovin the next few days as she recovers . . . I'm glad all worked out today . . .it makes me feel better about Rhianna's spay next week . . . I hope you have a restful evening . . . |
Oh my gosh...I'm just now catching up on your thread about Pixie. I am so glad all went well with the surgery. She looks so precious. I know I bathed Sydney before her spaying, but she still came home funky looking and smelling. Same with her last surgery on her knees. I think it's just a given that no matter how long they're at the vet's, they come home with a new "do." lol By tomorrow, you won't be able to keep Pixie down. That is a great idea about the bed. Her belly is very tender and that makes it easier for carrying her. I can tell you are still a bit nervous. I was the same way. My parents are going through a spaying with their little girl Wednesday and I can tell that they're a bit nervous, too. They are our little ones and we want to protect them. But you were doing what was right for her, even though she did give you her puppy dog eyes before the surgery. God bless and know that I will pray for Pixie's speedy recovery. |
So glad everything went well and Pixie got to come home. She is adorable:) |
Ahhhh...sweet little Pixie. She doesn't look happy at all! I did the same...carried Faith around in her bed. I think it's easier on them. The messy head...I didn't notice it so much with Faith, but with Maddie and Libby I really did. I wonder if they put some kind of ointment over the eyes to keep them from drying while in surgery. That was just what I thought with Maddie and Libby. The lady that works at the vet that was holding Faith before I got there said she'd tried to clean Faith up, so that's probably why I didn't notice it with Faith. I did notice today though, that Faith had a bunch of gook on the inside corner of her eye and she's never had that before. Anyway, I hope both you and Pixie sleep well tonight and I'm so happy that this is now behind you! Yippeee! |
Just checking for an update on Pixie. I hope she is doing great today! |
She looks so cute in her lil bed. I'm glad she did ok. Hope she is better today.:) |

Greasy head -- yes, Maximo came home from surgery looking like he was dipped in a jar of Vaseline, and he had runny eyes. It was really hard waiting 2 weeks to give him a full bath. |
Poor little baby! She looks exhausted. I am happy to hear she is home and sleeping soundly. Maybe you can relax a little now. Take care!;) |
2 Attachment(s) Pixie is acting cold today and doing some shivering. It is damp and cold today so I put a sweater on her and wrapped her in a fleece blanket. Her breath smells horrid, I am wondering if anyone else experienced this with teeth removal. She finally pooped and it was so hard it was stuck to her bum. I guess I will give her some pumpkin to help that. She didn't eat as much today, but she finally drank a ton when I added a tich of organic chicken broth to her water and warmed it up. I had to finally use the soft E cone by Bo bc she would not stop licking. I have to say that if any of your babies are getting spayed in the future I would highly recommend a soft E cone by bo it has saved us from a headache!! I don't feel as guilty putting that on like I would if I had to use one of those ones from pet smart. At least the soft e cone is comfy and you can roll it down when they are not licking and if they start licking roll it back up. |
She looks better, but she still looks tired. I'll bet by tomorrow she'll be feeling much more like herself. Kacee just had a few baby teeth removed when she was spayed and I don't remember a bad smell. Of course, I could have forgotten by now. |
Ahhh...sweet little Pixie! Regarding the bad breath after teeth pulling, Faith had bad breath for a few days after her teeth pulling and now it is much better. Pixie looks so adorable in her soft collar. Faith has not even looked at her incision. I do keep a little shirt on her so if she decides, she won't be able to get to it. So glad Pixie is coming along well. Give her a kiss from me! |
