Donating YT 500 Club Member | Wear a thong? PLZ take care of your undies... True story: Jayne's English Bull Dog got very sick, very fast... vomiting both food & water. Couldn't keep anything down. Vet's day off, but she called Jayne to let her know what to do till next morning. By the time Emma (6 yo) got to the vet she was so ill that the vet didn't think she would survive. Three days of hospitalization later Emma is recovering & ready to go home. The problem? Emma had eaten Jayne's thong and nearly died. Emma is totally recovered & doing well. Jayne has learned an important lesson. This is just a reminder to take care of all the stuff laying around that our little ones can swallow. We just can't be too careful.

| Is this for real? I know they eat clothing as Ive lost multiple uns, bras, pants and shoes... but how did the dog almost die eating thongs? It was not the thongs specifically was it? More like they maybe twisted the intestines or something?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | No, I don't think it was the thong specifically. It just messed up her insides. She did end up passing it, but sure messed things up for awhile. Jayne was pretty embarrassed about it all & was hard to get details afterwards about it. But, yes this is a for real story!!!

| I'm going to the funny side of this. Go to the vet to pick up your pooch and they hand over pooch and ziplock with thongs in it with a grin on the face. Here's the problem. |

| Wow, that is so scary! One of my aunt's shih tzus almost died after he ate a shoe string! He had to have surgery to have it removed! Luckily, he is fine now.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Sometime back I remember seeing (maybe on Nat Geo) show about emergency vets & situations they run into. It was amazing some of the things that animals had swallowed. Some were so big I couldn't figure out how it could possible. A whole lot of wierd things. Wish I could remember them all. Sure caused some pretty tough surgeries & mighty sick dogs.

| This is funny and serious at the same time. I have teenaged daughters, one of which is a total mess. I can see a big dog eating the thong, but seriously, if you have Yorkies, or small dogs in general, and you have undies laying around (of any sex/size ), your babes can seriously strangle themselves in them. Bras too. Right now, this is my number one concern for safety in my house. Thongs and bras are very bad because of the thin straps.
