what a cutie pie... love the pic... I am just being impatient about his hair growing :p I cant wait till it gets longer:D |
1 Attachment(s) oops I forgot to add the puppy pic... but notice the difference. this pic and one in my profile His hair is so thin now, and then it looked thicker |
It depends on the dog, but I think generally, yorkies look cuter in a short haircut than a long. It take a certain type of face and build to pull off long hair. Now, I will say that Thor looks stunning in full coat. You won't find a girl yorkie prettier than him. I let him hold on to what shreds of masculinity he can by keeping him in a longish puppy cut. |
I love the long coat, but I shave the belly. That way you save on some of the grooming and the mess. Also I trim the hair at the backside to keep them clean. |
I have been growing Mr. Darcy's hair long, but I have trimmed the hair just above his eyes as it is hard to always keep a bow in. I did leave most of his hair on top long, so I can use one of the beautiful bows I bought from M'Lady's Dog Bows!!! |
1 Attachment(s) I keep Rio in a long coat - a lot of work but worth it. She gets a lot of attention 'cause she's tiny (3 lbs) with all that hair! We're planning to get her a baby brother - not sure if we'll keep him in a long coat as well. I mean, double the work might be too much for us! |
Her Name is Rio - Rio is really a beautiful yorkie! I keep Cash in a long puppy cut. He is very active and since he is a boy, everyone gives me sh*t if I put a bow in his hair. He is also a big yorkie (10lbs), so it's a lot of grooming when his hair is long. June (4lbs) is tiny and I keep her hair long. It's a lot of work, but I wanted a girl so that I could put bows in her hair and have her look like a proper yorkie... like the ones I fell in love with in the beginning. It works for us and the fact that Cash is less work, makes it easier to maintain June's coat. I totally groom them myself and it saves a lot of money. |
my baby toby is 10 months old now, & his head & body are turning to a lovely shade of silver |
I like long hair, but I am thinking about cutting Louis' hair this summer. |
He is absolutely adorable. |
I think when Lexi gets older I will keep her hair short but i'm trying to grow her facial hair a bit longer so I can tie the top so i wont have to worry about it in her eyes. If she really refuses the top hair up, then i'll cut it short. :) |
HI ALL IM NEW HERE AND WOULD LOVE SOME INPUT.. THIS IS MY BABY BOO BOO. IM GROWING OUT HIS HAIR, BUT IT SEEMS VERY DRY TO ME. HE GETS A BATH EVERY OTHER WEEK, CUZ WE WERE TOLD NOT TO BATHE HIM MORE THEN THAT, BUT THEN HIS COAT LOOKS UGLY. HE IS 7 MONTHS OLD AND LOOKS LIKE A 2LB GREY OLD MAN. LOL. IS THERE ANY "HAIR CARE" PRODUCTS I CAN USE TO KEEP HIM LOOKING LIKE THE GORGEOUS TINY OLD MAN HE IS... THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANY INPUT..IM GETTING NEW PICS THIS ONE ISNT TOO GREAT :) :aimeeyork |
My boys are short... they are outdoors a lot, active and can get tangled, matted, dirty and smelly. Plus they love to swim in the pool and long hair just gets matted and tangled with their lifejackets, which are on them almost everyday in the summer! LOL |
Just cut Melba's hair |
I prefer spend time with my yorkie brushing her coat, we have a special connection in that moment. |
