wow, stupid me, I emailed and ask if she's registered. If she's registered, then that means she has to be purebred yorkie right? I would go check her yet before buying because I want to make sure she's healthy and check her out. I really like the maltese/coton thought, I have two yorkies...I'd like some white for a change...hehe. I have been considering a biewer, but my bf thinks it's too expensive...I do think Vanilla is super cute!! The seller said he will provide more information later... |

However, I stand by my statement that many Biewers can be and sometimes are born with mainly white backs. Some can be half white faced or all white faced. Not only that..but they can be shown and earn Ch. points as well. I have seen pics of a couple of Ch male's who are half white faced. I also have seen many Biewers showing with very little color on their bodies and or faces. In fact...a puppy I produced earned a Championship with the IABCA and she is mainly white on her body. Her show side is all white. I have also seen many Biewers born with the darker colors, but are faded to tan and white within a year or two. These are facts, not just my opinion. I could post pics that would easily prove my point..but I do not own these dogs, and have no right to place the pics on any forum. |
Going to see Vanilla! I might get her because I am going to go see her!! YAY!! My finals are next week and then my bday!! I'm turning 20!! My bf is going to split the cost of her with me for my bday present! :D I am considering taking her to a vet nearby for a physical exam to make sure she's healthy. Any other suggestions? I mean, will the physical exam be enough? |
I love Vanilla. I think she is a beauty. I'd have a hard time turning away from that one. |

The vet will check her heart/lungs and take her temp. Make sure he checks her ears for infection or mites. He will check her mouth and teeth to see if she has any retained baby teeth. Make sure he palps her knee's and they are normal. You can also have him run a blood panel right in the office to make sure her kidney, liver and glucose levels are normal. Is the seller guaranteeing her health, and giving you some time to verify that she is healthy? Keep us updated..and good luck on those finals!! And of course..Happy Birthday too!! :) |
Both pups are cute, but #1 is extra cute (looks a lot like my 2 maltese/yorkie mixes). One thing about considering a Maltese mix is that they need a lot more brushing, and grooming is a bigger challenge. The Yorkie will be more of what you are used to. |

This was my reply from her last night with more info about Vanilla... Vanilla is AKC registered. This is a parti, she has the black spots on her skin, and the black that she did have when she was a tiny puppy turned, tan, which is on her face. I can't say she is potty trained, because honestly she just hasn't had good training. She does bark, but normally only when she feels ignored. For example, if put her outside to go potty and she can see me through the glass door she will bark, because she wants to be with me. She does not bark randomly, just normally if she sees me and wants to come to me, but something is stopping her, ha like a glass door. She is not fixed, but will be coming into heat in a few months. If bleeding is something you want to avoid, then I would recommend getting her fixed. I am re-homing her because, life has just become too busy. I don't have the time I use to, and she deserves better. i hate coming home to a dog that has missed me all day, just to leave again, to take my kids, here and there. She is crate trained, but I already promised a friend she could have the crate after I sold Vanilla. Her bed is normally a towel or the pile of dirty clothes. She comes with herself and her AKC papers. I do want to warn you, she is a big girl, if you are looking for an itty bitty Yorkie, she is bigger than that. :) she said she paid 2500 for her!!!:eek: With that, shouldn't it meant that she got a health guarantee from her breeder? I will be rational upon purchasing her because I know better than before (thanks to YT). I hope Vanilla doesn't have a barking problem, otherwise, I can't get her. Also, I hope she's healthy and everything...it seems to me that she is not very spoiled...no rabies at 8 months?!?! no clothes?!? no bed?!? poor girl...it's time for someone to show her sone pampering :p Any suggestions on what to do before/during/after I get her, please don't hesitate! I need some more advice on making sure she is healthy before I buy her... |

What you pay for and what you get don't often have anything to do with each other in the dog world. She was probably sold as a potential breeder, and breeders are selling parti's for this purpose. A good breeder never sells a pup for breeding, you don't even know if a dog is breed-worthy until 8 or 9 months. Unfortunately, some people will breed her only because she has the parti trait, and they market the dogs by calling them "rare." They are really not that rare, and lately it seems like you see more ads for them then standard yorkies. I would ask to see her vet records, I'll bet this person was planning to breed, and there is some reason she isn't. By the way, what do you mean, you can't get Vanilla if she has a barking problem? I really don't believe that Vanilla only barks when she outside and wants in, I think the breeder is lying about this. You can train a Yorkie to reduce their barking, but you have to work on it. |

Yes I do believe it may be a red flag when they want to drive half way. I think it's very possible that this could be a large volume breeder and she doesn't want you to know it. I always recommend you visiting the home. It's so important, if everyone did this we could put millers out of business, they just wouldn't be able to sell their dogs. Remember a miller stays in business if they can get less than $250.00 for a dog. I would ask for the vet reference, this person has had to get puppy shots, if she hasn't had any shots the dog could make your dogs sick. |
She hasn't had her rabies why? I'd be largely concerned cause it seems this dog hasn't been properly vetted. Get a vet reference and call. For the record...she isn't "done" growing at 7 months either. |
This is what she said..."I'm going to sell her as is. I don't know anything about her parents or their background. I just want to let [you] know. :)" I REALLY want her, but I feel like I shouldn't somewhere deep down.:confused::confused: I'm a little uncertain because the puppy is 8 months and no rabies? i got my babies their rabies at a little over 4 months! I have all my babies records in a folder...They have three beds and my bed  and Vanilla has a pile of dirty clothes or a towel?!?!:confused: Please rationalize me YT members! Based on all this, would you recommend checking her out? :( |
