Lost my baby.......... OMG! I could have died. That's how I felt anyways. I went to school Monday night and my roommate was here with my little benjamin. Well I left at about 4:30pm. At around 5:30 my roommate had visitors and that's when my baby got out. It was 9:00 pm before my roommate noticed he hadn't seen him in a while. I got home right about the time he noticed. I was so pissed. I had to hold my self back from going off. I got on a bike and rode all over my neighborhood calling his name with no luck. I had to go back home eventually. It was getting so late and I realized I wasn't going to find him. I couldn't sleep. I was so worried. It was so cold outside and I had just cut his hair down really short the day before. All I could picture was him lost and cold and scared! I was a wreck. I managed to get some sleep that night. In the morning I felt so depressed I almost didn't want to get out of bed. But I knew I had to start my search if I was going to have a chance at getting him back. The first thing I did was make a whole bunch of fiiers. I put them all over the neighborhood in every direction. At about 1:30pm I got a call from a woman who's house I put a flier on, on a tree right in front of her house.. SHE HAD BENJAMIN!!!! I could have cried. She said her husband found him wandering around Artesia Blvd., which is a VERY busy, major street. He brought him home and had him stay in the garage at their house. She was at work at the time so I had to wait until 6:30pm to be able to get him back.. I didn't even go to school cause I wasn't going to be able to concentrate anyways til he was home. At 6:30 the lady's husband called and even delivered him to me at home. Benjamin looked scared. The guy said he cried all night. But at least there's a happy ending! I didn't know what I was going to do without him. And especially without knowing he was ok. The night he was gone all I wanted was to know he was safe and warm somewhere. The thing that I was most worried about was him being cold and lost out there. I cried and cried. The worst feeling. But like I said, this story has a happy ending Thank God!!!! The fliers are a great idea. Luckily he ran into nice people who took him in over night and got him back home to me. I don't live in the most "fancy" area. You don't see yorkies everywhere. He could have easily ran into someone who would have never given him back!!! |
Wow how scarry! I am so happy you found your baby, and he's home with you again. :D |
What a blessing!!! Perhaps you could get him a large playpen to keep him in when you are not at home and have to leave him for a bit with roomates. He probably ran out to look for you :) |
Wow! I am so glad you have your baby back! I can't imagine what you were going through! |

I'm glad that you found your baby! :) |
It's nice to read about honest people for a change. I am so happy Benjamin is home safe and sound. Poor little guy must have been so afraid without you. It breaks your heart reading stories like yours. Glad yours has a happy ending.:aimeeyork |
Thanks everyone. It was scary. I couldn't stop picturing him shivering cold & scared to death. I will definatly have to figure out a way to make sure he's not going anywhere when I go to school for now on. Next time I may not be so lucky. I got a taste of what it feels like to think you may not get ur baby back. It's a helpless feeling. I had a migrane the whole next day after he ran off. It happens so quick and once it does ur helpless. And ur right Archie, there arent many honest people out there. I mean there are a lot, but there are also a lot of people who don't care and would take him and act like he's theres. I havn't got him chipped yet, but will be doing that very soon. :animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa |
I am so glad to hear that your story had a happy ending and your baby is back in your arms where he belongs! :) |
That's awesome that you found Benjamin. I hear that some people who find yorkies just take them and wont return them. I'm glad there are still some really hosest people out there. |
I'm so glad you have him back home.:) |
Glad you had a happy ending!! |
That's just scary! Glad he's home safe and sound. Similar thing happened to me. I left to go to work, leaving Kaji with my roomie and her dog. My roomie walked her dog about an hour after I left, and she encountered the cutest little yorkie greeting a schnauzer within the condo complex we lived in. She immediately thought of me because the yorkie looked just like mine. He even had a belly band with cute pink piggies like I had for Kaji. That's when she realized that it was Kaji! He must have gotten out when she put her laundry in the washer, which is outside on our porch, hoping to find me. She ran to get him, which got him running away from her. She was a newish roomie and Kaji takes a very long time to warm up to people. Her and the schnauzer's owner double teamed Kaji until they caught him. When I heard her story I never left him to roam the living room again. In his ex-pen he went every time I went to work. |
I am so happy for both of you that he was found by a nice person who took him in for the night. I couldn't imagine how hard it was for you...glad you had a happy ending. :animal-pa |
