| Best breed to pair? Hi my mum wants to get another dog as currently our yorkie is seeming quite lonely with us all working and going to school during the day. Weve had her for around 3 years now and i was wondering what breed of dog would go well? I understand this is a yorkie forum but mabye you have infomation on other breeds? She is quite defensive in parks and after she goes off sniffing them and they stiff back she goes crazy, never bitten anything though. She seems to be much better with bigger dogs and we think having a companion may calm her down a little. Sry if this is written in terrible english im in a rush atm. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | I would recommend looking at the types of dogs she does get along with in parks. For instance, Thor likes other yorkies, and he likes daschunds, I think because their noses are about the same distance of the ground as his is. It also might just be temperment - she just needs a nice, calm buddy. You could go to a shelter with your current yorkie and try her around a few other dogs. I wouldn't get a dog that is too much bigger than her, since he might accidentally hurt her while they are playing. |
