Well we are on day 12 and I woke up this morning to see that Napoleon's eyes were open!!

I am really excited! He is gaining weight everyday and right on schedule for everything! I feel really blessed that things have gone so well. I realize that it could have been a completely different story! At least we won't ever have to go through this again but what a pleasure and priviledge to get to watch my little guy grow from birth all the way through adulthood! My breeder also told me to not let Louis (the dad) near the Napoleon until he was 4-5 weeks old. I am happy to say that I have let Louis sniff Napoleon and be around him under limited, close and guarded supervision and being the sweet dog that he always has been, he is not threatened by him in the least! So I am celebrating another milestone today and just wanted to share it with my YT family! Hope everyone has a great day!

Great! Congrats on your baby. Be really careful when he starts getting his treats. Not sure if you saw GoldenParti posted about his new litter and little Yuki died when he had just left the room for a minute! He choked on something.

They are so fragile. Enjoy your baby and looking forward to seeing pics as he grows.

Thank you so much for the warning!!! I will be extremely careful!!! He is under extremely close watch because I've never done this before so in essence I'm like a new momma! If you can think of anything else I need to be warned about please don't hesitate to let me know! I am eager to have all the information I can get before I need it to be prepared!! Mary, what an exciting day for you and Napolean.

I think it's wonderful that you let Louis meet his son. I generally introduce everyone in the house to new pups after a couple of days - I wait until Mom takes a potty break and slip the pups out of the whelping area one at a time to meet and greet the rest of the fur family.

Thanks for the congrats! I'm glad you think it was okay to introduce Napoleon and Louis! Louis is a sweet little guy by nature and the only time he gets excited is when he can annoy my 3 year old and nip at her toes! He's a toe guy! LOL. Other than that he is extremely gentle and caring! He has been so gentle with Napoleon and is more intrigued than anything else! Definitely not aggressive! It's like he knows he is his somehow! And its precious to watch Paris because even though she loves Louis (that's her man) she is more defensive of Napoleon and is also watching to make sure Louis responds right! The instinct of the mama has been the most facinating thing to watch! She knows what to do and just does it! Pretty cool! I'm enjoying every minute of this once in a lifetime opportunity!!
