The newest addition to our family!! 1 Attachment(s) Meet Chase! He is just a sweetie! I got a call today from our local kill shelter about him. Within 20 mins I was at the shelter, melting over him. A lady had dropped him off (WITH AKC papers, too!) there without even really trying to find a home for him. Apparently she got him as a puppy and he is now still under a year old. He has not been worked with at all. He is not housebroken, not neutered, not leash trained, his hair is really matted in some areas, floppy ears (which are cute but I think I may try to get them to stand), his nails are super long, but he just has the sweetest eyes. :D She said she was rehoming him b/c she got a new dog and that he was really aggressive with her new dog. I think the people at the shelter think I am crazy since I already had 4 dogs at home but I see no reason in giving up on the poor guy without giving him a chance in trying to integrate him into our home. So far, he has shown absolutely NO aggression at all... so I have no clue what that lady was talking about. I plan on getting him neutered next week (my vet is out of town this week) and I am really hoping that it helps with the marking (praise the Lord for belly bands!). |
awww congrats. I hope it all works out for him....His angel has rescued him. |
I think Chase is a lucky boy to have found you, what is wrong with people some trade dogs like trading cars poor baby this may have been his luckiest day ever |
I think Chase is Adorable!!! How in the world could anyone give him up?? Their loss! So Happy for you & Chase!! Can't wait to hear & see more of him!! Hope he gets along well with yr other babies!! I Love his floppy ears!!;) |
Oh he is precious! Congratulations! So glad you could get him and he didn't have to spend much time at the shelter. |
Oh, he is simply adorable!!!!! what a lucky lil guy to have found you, and you him.... I don't understand ppl at all! you get a new dog and there are a few issues and you bump them to the curb??? unbelieveable!!! Thank goodness they called you and he has a wonderful life to look forward too!!! |
Congrats on the new furbaby. He looks like a real sweetie pie. |
I can't believe anyone would give him up... I agree, it's their loss! Congrats on the new addition to your family. |
I think I need to get an eye exam. I was looking at the picture and I thought something was wrong with his ear. So, I enlarged the picture and it was a human ear!:D Hi Chase! Like his name and he looks like such a sweet guy. I think he is adorable. |
He is a real cutie. So glad they called you. Doesn't sound like the previous owner should have a dog at all! :thumbdown Donna |
so happy you were able to help this lil guy...He's very handsome!!! Lucky you :) |
I love rescue stories! Congrats |
cutie pie! congrats on you newest addition! It truly warms my heart every time I hear of a pup finding a loving family!! |
Bless you Robin, and hugs to Chase I think he's a very lucky guy to have you adopt him. If his previous owner felt nothing for him to be able to dump him off at the shelter I'm sure he didn't have a very good life with her anyway. He may have not been abused, but I doubt he knows what love is. I'm sure you'll both enrich each others lives. :angel2dl: Chase had an angel come into his life. |
Chase is adorable, thank you for rescuing him. |
He has a really sweet face. I am glad you found each other - congratulations! |
Chase is a cutie and you are an angel:) |
aww congrats! he is a cutie! |
Congratulations, i wouldnt have been able to resist him either..he looks a real cutie. Glad he's settling in ok and hopefully with some regular training and love, and with the example set by your other pups, he will soon be housetrained! |
He's such a sweet little boy. Good luck with him. Hugs Shirl x x |
Thank you for saving his life, what a sweetie! It sounds like this person just didn't train or work with him! Best of luck with him! |
Congrats! :) |
That's great you took him. He is a handsome little guy. |
Congratulations! He is adorable |
Congratulations!!! He is adorable!!!!!!!!!! |
ok... so Chase is VERY aggressive with my Max. :( I think its because they are both intact. I am hoping this will help solve Chase's problem when he is neutered. A few times today (while my hubby and I were present in the room), they would all be lounging around and out of no where, Chase would just attack Max (who is half his size) and would try to bite down on his throat and everything. Although, I would never rehome a dog solely for this (especially with it only being a day or so).... but there have been some other things that have come up (a foster child who requires a lot of attention) that has made my husband and I come to the decision that Chase will be considered a foster. I honestly do not have the time right now to devote to him, which he deserves. I will be looking for a wonderful home for him and he will be placed after he is up to date on shots and is neutered (which should be next week). We went into this situation wanting it to work but knew that if it didn't, we were more than willing to find him a wonderful home. We did know one thing, he was NOT going to be staying in the kill shelter a moment longer and we would do what we had to, to save him. He is such a sweetie! So if you are interested in Chase, feel free to PM me. At this time, I do not recommend him to be with any other males (especially those in tact) but I am hoping him getting neutered will alleviate this problem. At this time, I am not for sure what his rehoming fee would be, it depends on the cost of his neuter, shots, etc. It will not be much, but I want to make sure he is going to a home that will be able work with him and that will be able to give him the care and attention that he needs. So far, he has allowed me to put top knots in, t shirts, belly bands, harnesses, etc on without a problem (except he is fast and will hardly hold still b/c he is still a puppy lol). So please let me know if you are interested (or someone you know). Thanks. |
