update For now, I had to let little Adonis go :( We are unable to make the trip this weekend. She did say she'd deliver him for the price of her gas if she knew I for sure wanted him - but it's never a for sure for me until I have the new dog meet with Oliver and see how they get along. I am going to look at an 8 week old litter tomorrow afternoon. It's actually my bosses groomer, I had no idea she was a Yorkie breeder! I spoke with her at length yesterday, and really like her. She loves those little babies to bits, offers free grooming for a while and then half price grooming for life - and free pet-sitting should I need to go out of town and can't take the pup - she doesn't want them ever being kenneled, she'd rather look after them herself. She's never had a luxating patella or liver shunt, and she's been breeding for 30 years. She has 2 boys and 1 girl who the thinks will be larger dogs, so that's perfect. I am excited at the thought of being able to get a little girl, all my dogs have always been boys! I'm sure the 4 week wait will feel long if I decide to get a pup there, but she's just down the road so I can visit :p |

My Yorkie was free and I would have paid for him! I never saw a Yorkie before the day I brought him home but now i love this little guy! He just lives to make me smile! We have a free Malteese also but I would not buy another one of him! He is a grouchy old man! He just lives to be the TOP dog.... |
My family doesn't think I'm crazy for spending the money on the dog, since they all have pure breeds as well. However, they DO think I'm crazy for all of the treatment she gets. They think I treat her "like a human". I try to explain to them that I'm a 31 year old woman who cannot have children so she IS my child. She has her own bedroom that I'm working on for when she gets more independent and wants her own space. LOL My friends think I'm absolute nuts! Money has no limit when it comes to taking care of my little Lucy!!! I'd have paid 10x more than I did for her if I had to do it over again. Don't let anyone discourage you! Like you said, you wouldn't spend 3k on a snowmobile or of the like. Different strokes for different folks! :heart toKandi |

Oh, in the heat of the moment I forgot what I was talking about... lol. I got lucky when it comes to my furbabies. I paid $600 for Roxy, and with the love she gives me and everything she has given in my life (especially since I probably wont have children either) she was well worth it, and worth more. I would have gladly paid twice as much... even MORE for her! She is priceless! I paid $500 for Lexi, and that doesnt bother me. She has health problems, and we just got her, but I would have paid anything to get her out of the environment she was in. She is a real sweetheart. It is even more ridiculous for him to say that if he spent that much on a snowmobile... but to each his own. I hope his snowmobile cuddles him when he is sad... lol. People who dont have hearts for their dogs just dont understand. I run into ppl all the time. I told someone one time I would be devastated if something happened to my dogs, Id go crazy. This woman go all offended and told me her daughter had just given birth and lost the babies, and SHE didnt go insane, so it was "childish" for me to say something like that about "dogs". People just dont get it. I felt bad for her daughter, OF COURSE, but some people dont understand the bond between someone and their dog if theyre not truly in love with their dogs. They ARE my kids. I hope you find the right baby for you, and no matter what, its what your heart tells you. Its only a lot if YOU think it is. If you think he is worth it, who cares what anybody else thinks. My family and I have spent WELL OVER 1,100 just on Roxy's wardrobe. Probably double that... maybe even triple. She has well over 100 pieces of clothing, 4 pairs of sunglasses, 3 harnesses, 50+ bows... She has so much clothes and accessories, there is some stuff she hasnt even worn yet. But now she has a sister to help get them in circulation. |

Ignore your family my friend and go with your heart, a few months down the line they'll understand. Hugs Shirl x x |
Any updates? Did you get to go see the new litter and if so, how did that go. I hope you will be a new yorkie mommy soon. (4 weeks isn't too long to wait for many many years of love).:) |

My friends think it's insane how I treat my dogs. They dress better than me!! I love them to death!! They have captured my heart in different ways and, more importantly, in ways no others have!! Whenever I go out, I want to include them because I can't seem to be separated from them. I am getting lectures all over about how my dogs are taking over my life. I feel that I am responsible for them and I want them to be happy. When I see them happy, I am happy! My grades are slipping a little because of my babies :p but deep down I feel it's worth it. Am I crazy for that? My family thinks I'm throwing away my future for "dogs"! Honestly though, they give me a reason to live... |
Forgot to mention also. I STILL want more  I cannot have enough!! My bf says I am never going to stop. I am going to have a puppy farm :D I would if I can!!! I would adopt and love every dog in shelter if I can too! |
2 Attachment(s) Thanks again for all the responses! I am soooo glad that people get it. I have decided that I am going to be a crazy dog lady and people better get used to it! lol. I DID find my little girl... $700. The breeder is AMAZING, so loving and these pups all obviously adore her. She says "Where's my babies" and they all come running - at 8 WEEKS! I picked the only girl, only because I have never had a girl! She's around 3 pounds at 8 weeks, so she should be a sturdy one. She seems fairly quiet and laid back. I did LOVE her brother though, omg.. lol. He's the smallest of the bunch, and so funny. Picking up toys bigger than he is and shaking them in his mouth, beating up on his brothers and sisters, then crashing in the breeders arms. If he wasn't so small it would have been him I claimed for my own - but, I am very happy with my choice. I'm going to go visit next weekend and see how my little one is growing. The pup sitting up is my little girl (name suggestions? I've never named a dog, lol)... the one laying down is the little boy, I just had to get a picture of that, lol. |
OMG! So adorable!!! Congratulations!!! She is beautiful!!! So glad that you could work something out with the price and finding a good breeder and a great puppy for a great price. Trust me, that little heart is priceless. Whenever I first got a Yorkie, I thought I wanted a boy... but I just fell in love with Roxy when I saw her. You know when you find the "one", its an instant bond. Now, I am so glad I got a girl and now I have 2. :) God bless you and your little baby, and I am so glad to hear everything worked out for you. You're going to have a great furbaby life, and I hope you post pics for everybody to see as she grows. I love looking at pictures, especially yorkie furbaby pics! |
