by the why when the older woman told me that her and the yorkie did not get along i thought she was silly but sara hates this woman she will not go near her but when i walked in the house she run right up to me and started jumping on my leg the old woman said up until a few months ago she hired a pet sitter to come in and play with her but then it got to expensive(they raised thear prices) |

Okay, so all went well the dog got along great and when my boyfriend showed up with ripely(45lbs) Sara went crazy she growled and barked and i was thinking Oh no but ripely started to belly crawl over to her and just as she got in reaching distance she flopped over on on her back and Sara run around her and barked then got real close to her face and licked her nose Ripley jumped up and waged her tail and they run off t o play so next we will go to our house and see how Sara dose in Ripley home |
I love this thread! Hope all goes well. I sure hope you get this little one.:):) |
Misslissa - good luck with Sara and your other pups. I hope it works out for you. Jack is just over 4 pounds and I absolutely love him! We had a 30 pound sheltie previously and had to put him down. I really like the little ones - they don't realize they are so small. LOL |
i wanted to let everyone know whats been going on Sara did move in with us and we are doing great (other then haveing panic attacks every time shes under foot)she has moved in and assumed the role of alpha female, this however did not go over well with my chi mix chichi but they figured it out im not sure what they decided but they stopped barking so i think its a good sign the only problem im haveing is she will not sleep in the bed (everyone else dose) she lays on her bed on the floor and cries half the night if i pick her up and put her the bed she tries to jump down and gives me a heart attack (by the way know of a fast cheap place to buy pet steps) but evrey thing seems to be going great and im really happy i made the decision to keep her i borrowed a camera and all i got was several shots of a blond blur ill keep trying the secound she sees the camera she gets so excited she dances all over the place |

For steps, Petsmart has some taller one's that are reasonably priced. For sofa height steps check Walmart or Walgreen's. Good luck!! |
have your husband make a ramp out of some plywood...you can decorate, paint or sew something to cover the plywood to match your bedroom....and have go from the floor up to the bed....just a suggestion... |

3 Attachment(s) something like these would work...hehe |
ill have to try a ramp she jumps up and down off the bed but im convinced that she is going to break a leg or kill herself |

About the hip surgery, it can be pretty expensive, around $5,000.00 depending where you live.. But I would have an orthopedic vet look at that hip, often they really don't need surgery. |
I have tons of these Foam Ramps in my house. They work great, perfect height for the couch. When it comes to the beds, I push up a rubbermade tub (with a bed pillow on top) up to the bed, then the foam ramp in front. ;) I have covered these ramps in fabric and used T pins under on the bottom to hold the fabric in place. The I use that "foamy looking shelf liners" down the whole ramp, as 'traction control' - hahahahaha |

I forgot to add the link: NEW Foam Dog Cat Pet Ramp - eBay (item 200443533145 end time Mar-03-10 17:55:20 PST) |
i like the ramps but will they eat it my fur butts think foam is a new squishy treat and if the fabric cant be sewn on i know they will chew the foam up buit other then that i like it will they collapse if a larger dog stands on them (i have a older Maltese)he weighs 15 pounds |

I got a piece of fabric that is 2 yards big. And if you wrap it up like a present and use the T pins (jabbed into the fabric and into the foam) there is no way to get thru and into the foam core. The first one I got (I have about 6 of them), I was worried one of mine woulf pee on it, so I put a shower curtain liner under the fabric. Works great! No one ever did pee on it though... I will take some pictures tonight so you can get an idea :) |
I've got an un-neutered male beagle (40 lbs) & he doesn't bother my neutered female yorkie (10 lbs). Their both on a diet. When my granddaughter comes over w/her yorkie/beshon (hes been neutered, too). He'll play w/my yorkie & beagle. As far as expense goes, I've opened a savings account "just" for vet bills. Sure helps to take the pressure off. Good Luck |
