I would steal it and find a good home far away. |

Back in college, my brother saw his neighbor kick their australian shepherd puppy down the stairs...so he stole it right off their back porch one night...and gave her to my mom...who loved her for 16 years! Gotta say...I'm kinda proud of my brother for that one... Francie |
I have and will do it again if I thought I had to. |
I would steal her, but its a cop's house. I would need to get her out of my neighborhood/city/state asap. I dont have the means to do that right now. |
And I am not calling the authorities. I'm not sure if it is this way everywhere, but the ASPCA here wouldn't do anything if its a cop's house. Cops can make people's/organization's lives miserable here if they want to. Heck -- Domestic violence victims don't even get help here if the abuser is a cop. I am so upset and have been thinking about this all day. Its like I'm in a trap. I know its cruel of me to think this, but I wish I would have never saw what I saw. Ignorance is bliss. I feel so badly for the Yorkie, but feel like there's no way to do anything. |

I'd probably just have to kill them and bury them in the basement like in Arsenic and Old Lace. Really, document and report seems the most sensible, but if you have the courage, just knock on their door and try to assess the situation. |
I knocked on the door yesterday and that's when I realized how bad it was :( |

I would find a way to take the dog if possible. I have the same situation now. One of my neighbors lets their yorkie run loose all the time in the neighborhood. Our street is busy and hes gonna get hit. I told my husband the next time i see him out roaming I am gonna take him and find him a new home. |
abuse What type of abuse have you seen? What I think is abuse, the animal control has told me, isn't!! I knew someone who kept their Yorkies in the an unheated or AC'ed garage..they had styrofoam ice chest filled HAY for bedding. Animal C told me my Yorkies did not live like dogs and these Yorkies were perfectly fine..they had shelter, food and water..that is all that is required...well, excuse me! |

Like myself for instance, if any Yorkie isn't allowed to lie on a satin pillow, the're abused, LOL. (just trying to add a little humor to a sad situation, that's all.) |

Kristy...what kind of abuse did you observe? Francie |

I know! Call P.E.T.A.! That could give a rats ass about the cops! Francie |
If you have seen the abuse and if you know the people could you have a heart to heart talk about it? Or, if you can testify to the abuse and they will not change, I\'d call in the authorities or even try to contact the Animal Planet Cops of the area. Or, maybe even threaten them with what you have seen? You know, like, you don\'t want to do anything but this behavior toward their pet is unexceptable. |
I am sitting here thinking what I would do. And, I would watch them and when they are out with the dog sometime, approach them and say that you have noticed how hard it seems for them to do whatever___________ fill in the blank. Then, offer to take the dog as a lover of dogs and ask if you can find the dog another home with a little old lady who only walks it to church on Sunday mornings. My joking is a way that I use to defuse situations and sometimes helps the other person defuse a little. I am reminded of a woman in a check-out line during Xmas shopping a few years back. She looked more frazzled than anyone should. There was a screaming child in the cart and one pulling on her dress and screaming. People were giving her "that Look"-if they were mine they would not get by with that-you know the drill. I had read a way to deal with it so I tried-I walked up to the woman and said "scuse me" bless her, she spun around waiting for yet another onslought. I just said," It is really hard dealing with 2 kids and shopping. They look so tired and sleepy. Here, let me hold the little one in the cart and maybe the other one and I could go sit on that bench til you finish." That poor soul broke down in sobs--her husband was a fireman and had been killed in a recent fire. Everyone was around for a while and then they got on with their own lives. I guess the point is that you might have a positive effect on the situation if you find out they really are ignorant, hate the dog, or are just uneducated about the care these babes need. Now, that is hard to imagine... |
Kristy~ Anything new with this situation?? |

Rini...I have to say...you are GOOD! No...really...I\'m going to make you honorary Yorkie Diplomat of the Month. It sounds like you have a really good way with people...and empathy. Maybe it would be a good idea to approach them on a non-threatening way.... Francie |
