Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() Okay guys so my breeder says she'll probably be able to babysit Manolo and Lewie, but She's asking how much was I looking to pay her. What should i say?? March 30-April 20 2010. I know I should pay a good amount for the person being able to take great care of the dogs, but to be honest - I think my dogs are great dogs and I don't feel they'll take so much energy to take care of. They're the most gentlest dogs ever. BUT considering she's thinking of taking care of 2 of my dogs for 20-21 days, do you think $450 is okay? hmmm.... whats a good price range without breaking too much of a leg? ![]()

| ![]() my breeder pet sits back for the pups she has sold and at most asks for $10 per day, plus send them with their own food for the time you are gone.

| ![]() I pay $13 a day for the one and the other stays for $10 a day. This is at a vets kennel. I wanted them there just is case they needed emergency care. But get this, they tell you they have food there for them, but you can bring your own if you want to!!!! DUH They lost one of their good rawhind chews, didn't give them the bedding we took in for them and when I went to pick them up. I found no one there and a side door unlocked, when I opened the door the alarms went off. and it took 25 minutes for someone (the vet/owner) to show up. and over 30 minutes to get checked out. So I think I would pay her at least $15 a day if not more, if your guys are well taken care of. Needless to say I spoke of my displeasure to the Doc. and got I will address this with my staff, but my babies could have been gone. I actually paid $33 a day for 3 dogs as long as they were all in the same kennel due to me having my daughters pom with my two Yorkies. |

| ![]() I use a service that comes to my home. I pay 20 dollars for a visit plus 3 dollars per additional pet and I have 4 visits per day when I am gone, so it 92 dollars per day for two pets. I did check out a number of pet hotels and in home services and they all tended to run about 50 dollars per dog per day with a slight discount for a second dog sharing the same room. If I was using a breeder or friend who was doing it just as a favor and not really a business I would expect to pay them at least 20-25 dollars per dog, per day. |

| ![]() My kennel charges $33 for the first dog and $30 for the second. I would tell her what you were thinking of offering and see what she says. Do you have any family tha could watch them? |

| ![]() In my area, a pet sitter will run about $35 per day for two visits to your house lasting at least 30 minutes. The pet sitter will walk the dog if you choose, or can just throw toys and play, etc. Mine used to stay a lot longer because he loved to watch golf on our big screen (and I think to get away from his wife!!!). Being able to keep my pets in their own environment was really important to me.................

| ![]() I offer free pet sitting for life for all of my puppies..But to me, I think it would depend on the behavior of the dogs. If they are good dogs, then $10 a day seems fair.. |
