From the current owner: last week i developed a sudden medical problem that i never saw comming and was hospitalized 2 days. My pup stayed at home alone and without food or much water..I was hospitalized and too "out of it" to arrange for puppy care..I have no one to care for him even if i were in the shape to arrange for it..

That's verbatim (I copied and pasted that) - in terms of what was posted about what has happened to this puppy. Personally, I'd be concerned about his health.

If this situation is real, I'm so sorry that the owner is going through this :(. But if you're taking responsibility for this puppy's life, you have to take into consideration what he's recently been through in his short 12 weeks of LIFE.

I know :(. If the owner is where he says he is, then I am about 10 minutes away - I emailed him 3 times asking if/how I could help. I have woken up at night thinking about this little puppy, and wanted to help - esp. when I could have picked him up so fast. He would have been here Thursday, safe and sound, and the owner would be relieved and could know he was safe with me (even if it was for vbayne or whomever the right person was).

If this is for real, then I just want the pup safe, and the owner helped, and the situation confirmed, the puppy properly vetted.

If this is a scam or an attention thing, then I want to figure it out - and also don't want vbayne (or family) hurt by this (if a scam).

I really appreciate all the attention being paid towards this puppy. My SIL is not going by herself. She has also talked to this gentleman on the phone. She owns 3 little babies herself, and she is a very smart person. If there is something wrong with the puppy she will handle it well and in the best interest of the puppy. She is going to send me pictures and I will post them for all to see.

I wonder why he did not answer your email? He sounded so sincere on the phone. I never dreamed about it being a scam.

I will tell SIL about the Nutracal.

What is very concerning to me is this puppy was left alone for 2 days without food or water and no hyperglycemic attack.........No yorkie that age could have survived that length of time alone in that situation. I can understand your thinking about things not adding up.

Did you see my post saying we are flying him on Pet Airways? He will be in the cabin, with an attendant watching him all the way.

I PM'd Ann as soon as I saw the post....knowing that she would do everything in her power to rescue the pup. However, I know that she would investigate first; knowing there are so many scammers out there. As this type of post has been used before.

We definitely see scams here, actually even from as far as Africa - that's why we try to help when/if we see something that looks like it warrants further exploration.

The owner replied to 1 email. This owner (from what I can tell) agreed to give you this pup. Later, he told admin he still needed help for the puppy and asked for the thread to be resurrected so he could get help for his puppy, asap. That's when I contacted the owner offering my help yet again. No reply to the last 2 email offers of help. Told him I was 10 mins away etcetera.

It doesn't add up - and there is more that doesn't add up, just fyi. If the owner is just confused from being ill...perhaps that's it...if so, I feel so bad fo him :(. At the same time, I can't say *nothing* when a member here is sending a family member to a stranger's house and when I clearly saw something not adding up. And, when a puppy is involved.

Yup...as soon as you PMd me that link, I posted in the thread, and then emailed the owner. Later on, even Admin was involved bc something didn't seem quite right (and still doesn't).

All we really wanted (and want) is to help the owner and the pup, if this is authentic. And I just can't figure it out...

Let me add when my husband had his heart attack in the middle of the night a few years ago and in about 6 hours when I knew he was stable he made me go home to see about the dogs. Not a half hour after I got home the nurse was on the line, telling me he was insisting on talking to me. All he wanted to know is if the dogs had been ok while I was gone. He was kept in the hospital for about a week (and never out of it) and when he came home he was right into his old unpaid kennel boy mode. The dogs are number one to him. According to his Dr, the dogs are what keep him active and healthy.

Gail, my SIL, talked to him on the phone today and they arranged to meet tomorrow at 3:00. He told me he works during the day and the puppy stays in a crate. That is another reason I want to take this puppy. I am at home all day to be with him.

I pray this is not a scam........

Have you tried googling his name, address email or phone number to see if all the info he gave matches up? I love google!!!

I googled the name, and no it doesn't match...I don't have the phone.

Oh that's not good..I guess though as long as the SIL takes a male with her, it might be ok..This is a tough call since I am married to a cop and have learned that some people go to crazy lengths to scam people.. I once rescued a German Shepard and posted her on Petfinder classifieds. I had a scammer contact me and wanted to send me a large check and have me cash it and then he would send an employee to MY HOME to pick up the rest of the money and get the dog.. I agreed knowing it was a scam so I could get my hands on the check and turn it over to the police, well I got the check and then suddenly started getting threatening phone calls all hours until my husband finally grabbed the phone from me and told the guy he was a cop and if he came to my home, he would be shot on site.. It was scary and I was a nervous wreck for weeks wondering if this man would show up..I deleted the ad right away and found her a wonderful home with my neighbors best friend.. Just please tell your SIL to be careful!!
