So glad I bought him a Harness!!! Hi...took Dustie for his first walk with his new Harness on..last weekend..and I must say I wished I had bought him one sooner...It was great knowing that if he pulled a bit..or I had to restrain him it wasn't hurting his neck at all..!! And he walked a lot better too...as if he was really proud of it:D:thumbup: Chrisann x |
What kind did you get? Max and Mickey have Lupine Roman and Step in types and Puppias. LOVE harnesses. Max thinks he is a sled dog-LOL He pulls a lot! |
Hi What type...oh well bought it from our local PetsMart pet shop..it is adjustable..it slips over his head and front feet and then clips around his stomach...it wasn't expensive but seems to do the trick..and will adjust more if he gets fat lol.... He seems o.k. with it on as well...at least he is n ot pulling on his neck anymore...as he does get excited when out walking...actually I usually have to tempt him on the way out..and he pulls when he knows we are on the way back...!! Aren't they funny...:D Chrisann x |
That's good. Harnesses are so much better for their necks. |
I have the same kind that you purchase at PetSmart. It works very will for Pixie. But, I smear she thinks she's a sled dog...pulls all the time. |
That's great! I notcied that with Bella's leash attached to her collar, she would cough and hack. With the harness she does every once in awhile, but only when pulling excessively. Definitely better for their tracheas. I don't think I'll ever attach the leash to their collars again. |
I would never use a collar. It's way to dangerous for a tiny yorkie. I'm glad you got a harness. They are great. Ella as well is a sled dog. She pulls me everywhere. =] |
Good! :) Jackson wears a collar 24/7 for tags but we always wear harnesses for walks, etc. We have 2 Puppia harnesses and 1 silk stepin from chattiesmom. |
We are a fan of the harness too. |
I am actually headed out to get a harness today! I did not know about the trachea thing until I joined here. My Rusty is a puller when he is on walks with his leash and he always made this horrible hacking coughing sound and now I know why. I feel so guilty that I did not know before hand that collars were bad. Of course we will keep the collar on him for his ID Tags but will use the harness for walks! |
we have the buddy belts. these are safe and not to mention stylish as well. |

mimimomo had some & I highly recommend her as her service is superb. She only has a few sizes though so check her 1st. toplinepet.com The silk harnesses chattiesmom makes are very nice as well; here's a link to her post on YT silk-step-ins-lots-new-color-selections.html The search tool is good if you get selective enough with it ;) |
