I've made up my mind
 
I've debated getting another Yorkie since my sweet Harley's passing on 2/1. I know it hasn't been long but my house seems completely empty without him. I found a Yorkie and went to meet him on Sunday. I've decided that I'm going back to get him. I told her I would come pick him up this weekend but I don't know if I can wait that long. So sometime between today and Saturday I will have a new baby boy. I'm really excited and nervous at the same time. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

I completely understand. My 16 year old toy poodle passed away 6 years ago and although I felt I "should" wait, after two weeks I got Tatum. She really filled a hole in my heart. You should do what you feel best. Some people feel the need to wait a while but others find that adding to the family again soon helps with the hurt. Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures.

Oh congratulations! I am so glad that you are able to open your heart to a new furbutt. :) While Harley will never be replaced, your new baby will help your heart heal. Can't wait to see pictures. :)

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss :( I know what you mean, after my kitty passed i just felt that another furbaby would help ease the pain of that loss. My cat was Bella's best friend. Congratulations on your new baby! I wish you both lifelong happiness :)

Hi...I know how it feels...last year we said goodbye to our Wee Sammie who was almost 15 years old...I felt so alone straight away....and within 2 months I had taken a new pup "Dustie" into our Home...

When you love Yorkies..they leave such a hole in your heart which needs to be fulfilled...and think of it this way....Your departed Yorkie will live on in your new pup...xx

He is 13 weeks old. Me and my husband have been debating names but I think we are going to name him Oliver and probably call him Ollie. We have went through a list of names and have only agreed on a couple. I am super excited. I know he won't replace my baby but he is going to fill a big void in my life. It's really amazing how Harley sucked my husband into the Yorkie world and made him melt into a little softee. My husband didn't even want a dog when I got Harley and he ended up falling in love. It crushed him when Harley passed away and he immediately wanted another one. When we went to meet this little guy on Sunday he was ready to take him home that night but I felt like we needed to talk it over....of course by the next day our minds were made up. I told the Breeder I would pick him up this weekend because I have to work all week. It's only an hour away so I may have to go one night this week. I don't know if I'll be able to wait until the weekend.

I lost my beloved BJ in October. He had been my constant companion for 17 years. I missed him so much, and had decided I would never get another one because it hurt too much when they left........but thankfully I came to my senses! By the middle of December I had another one. My little Gabby will never take the place of BJ, but she is certainly making her own place in my heart.

I'm so sorry to hear of Harley's passing! Oliver can never replace Harley But, He can start to heal the emptyiness you have in your heart...Congratulations and can't wait to see pics of Oliver....:):congrats::yorkiesar R.I.P. Harley....:rbyorkie:

I think that is the hardest part of being a dog owner is the loss that will one day come, but it's also the joy of filling the hole that was made with a new love one.

Sounds like little Oliver was heaven sent...
I am happy you found another little yorkie to love.
It's sort of a tribute to what a wonderful little yorkie Harley was.

Your new puppy won't be Harley, but he will be his own little personality with all his own special needs! Congrats...understand the waiting. I still have 4 weeks to go!

We had to put our Kitty to sleep right before Christmas. Very sad, even my husband cried. The yorkie won't replace kitty, but I'm looking forward to the business of caring for and training an animal. There is something about caring for a small one that fulfills that nurturing hole in us. I wish you all the best!

Well...I have two teenagers and neither of them like the name Oliver. Looks like I am back to the drawing board for a new name. I may be picking him today and my husband says he will have a name before we pick him up. I'll keep everyone posted.
