Axel is a little cutie pie:) |
I paid $40 today for Gabby's first grooming. This was for a mini cut, teeth brushed, nails clipped. |
I pay 78 for two dogs for full groom (so I guess almost 40 each), I haven;t taken them for a mini groom before. I also tip 20%. we go about every 6 weeks, I could go longer but Harley's hair grows faster and gets tangled more and I need to keep him short. |
Ugh - I pay $75 to $85 per dog which comes up to $200 per visit with two. Its so expensive I have learned to do it as best as I can on my own or when I bring them to my breeder for dogsitting (which is rare) I ask her to groom them and give her the cash. She never charges me for dogsitting so I give her a few hundred as a thank you. |

I live in Podunk, AL and the groomers here charge $40 for my mini schnauzer (haven't taken my yorkie puppy yet). That seems high to me for where we live, but it's the going rate. I wouldn't mind so much if I could find a groomer I liked, but I've tried all the ones in town and only felt lukewarm about them at best. My 17 week old puppy needs I guess a mini (shave ears, pluck hair inside, clean up around the 'business' parts), but I don't want to leave her and the groomer I use now only works weekdays and I work out of town so my schnauzer stays all day. No way I'm leaving the baby (yorkie) there all day. Thinking about trying Petsmart. Hoping I could just stay and wait for her for the little we need done. Opinions anyone on Petsmart groomers?? |
I have noticed that people on here take their pups pretty frequently to the groomer. Ella's last groom was back in October. I like for her to have a puppy cut during the warm month and longer hair during the winter. I couldn't imagine taking her once a month or even every 3 months. Ella's hair does grow slow though. =] |

I am thinking the same thing. Where one earth does a person live where it's that much for a full groom. I've never heard of paying more than 50 dollars, and that's w/ a tip! |

I have paid as low as $30 and as high as $40 for a full groom. Not including tip. I did run into a lady with a yorkie sporting the cutest puppy cut and she pays $25. I might check out her place next. |

Im lucky that I travel upstate so much, getting them groomed there isnt an issue for me... I dont think I could afford to groom them both here. |

$50 for full groom, plus tip. I like the way she cuts his hair though and he's becoming comfortable with her so it's worth it. He usually goes every 8-12 weeks, but in the winter we space it out more. For example, he was cut in mid-June for the summer (cut really short) and didn't go back to professional groomer until late October. I kept up in between. And he just got groomed for the first time since October just a few weeks ago in mid-January. He probably won't go back until April. |
