Yorkie Talk convention? Has there ever been a YT convention? If not what does everyone think about having one? I know we are spread out all over the world but we could still have one. I'd love to meet some of you in person. |
:) That is a cool idea, or better yet a YT vacation. Somewhere seriously dog friendly, warm (not scorching hot) and fun. |

New Mexico would be perfect to host a YT meetup/convention. Not to hot, Not to cold! One of the State Parks would be nice. Lots of scenery with plenty of room for yorkies and families |
Last I heard the YT Meetup this year was going to be somewhere on the West coast, but I think we would have heard more by now if it were to happen. |

The First International YorkieTalk MeetUp was held in 2008 in Kansas City. Unfortunately I was unable to attend because I was recovering from a 4-wheeler injury. I did attend The Second International YorkieTalk MeetUp was held in July of 2009 in Alexandria, Virginia. It was well attended by both humans and Yorkies. One of our members traveled from South Africa and Mike (Alaskayorkie), his wife, and Eddie, attended as well as several of our Canadian members. There was talk of a 2010 meetup to be held on the west coast, but I don't know that the status is. You might contact Admin for more information. |
Members have "mini meetups" all the time. In fact I will be hosting 4 members - in a couple of weeks. Rbelland and Luckylady are flying in from Nebraska to pick up pups and WV~Yorkies and Peanut are driving down from West Virginia and Tennesse respectively to pick up and deliver pups. The four of us have become close YT friends over the past few years and have developed special relationships which have 1,000's of hours of phone conversations, visits, and pups. |
What was particularly incredible about the International MeetUp in Alexandria is that there were over 100 Yorkies staying in the same hotel. What a hoot to see that many Yorkies in one place, most of them were better dressed than their Moms and Dads. |

If they announce one for this year, make your plans/reservations fast. I wasn't there last year, but remember the threads. Rooms filled up incredibly fast + other hotels. |
