| I dont know whats wrong with her! Is Bia in heat? Well this morning I was looking at my dogs pee pads to see if they needed to be changed and I noticed that one of them had a pinkish/yellow colored pee spot on it. I really didnt think nothing of it, and then about an hour later I seen the same thing on another pee pad. I checked Bia for any blood on her hair, and even where she had been sitting and sleeping and there was nothing. She is 5 months now and my other dog is only 10 weeks and still hasn't gotten the concept of peeing on the pads so I even though I didn't see what dog peed on the pads I really thinking it was Bia. She hasn't been that different latley, except for today I noticed she is way more clingy than usual, and she wants me to hold her every time I am holding my other dog, which usually she doesn't trip off of. I also know that she was chewing a red raw hide heart last night and I am thinking maybe that could of made her pee a little pinkish. I dont know whats up with her, could it be her 1st heat or could something be wrong or could it be okay. Any help would be appriciated!

| You will want to make sure that the blood is not just in the pee. If it is she may have an infection and you will need to take her to the vet. Usually you can really tell (in most females that is!) when they are in heat because the private area will be a lot larger than it has been in weeks past. Good luck!

| Take a cotten ball and swab her down there. It could be heat or maybe infection. If its heat her nipples and thing should be swollen. |

| If she isn't swollen, It might not be heat, They have been know to go itno heat at 5 months. I would check to see if she is swollen, if not. It wouldn't hurt to have a vet check Good Luck, Please keep us posted!

| Well I have changed pads but I have used these before, I usually buy whats on sale at the pet store. I have been noticing that she is lying by herself a lot more, not really intersted in the other dogs, but she will greet me especially if im giving my puppy attention. I'll see how tonight goes, because I havent found any more pinkish pee spots, they have all been yellow, and she will rarely pee in other places. If she is not acting herself by tomorrow, I will call the vet and see what he says. Thanks all for the advise, Ill keep you posted.

| It's probably just the dye from the red rawhide chew. They pass colors and odors just like we do....have mexican food...your urine will usually smell garlicy. Five months is unusually young for a first heat. If it last more than a day, then you might want to call the vet. |
