Help!!!! Falling apart... I am overwhelmed!!! I got my foster furkid today. And I can't stop crying at the sad shape she's in. And Missy is just curling up in a ball u nder the fesk and doesn't want to come out. And that's making me cry more. The hubby yelled at me for crying because crying isn't going to solve anything. And he's right, but What do I do??? I am falling apart here... |
Aaaw hun. I am so sorry that I don't have any amazing advice for you. But what I can say is that you are doing a wonderful thing, by fostering that little angel. And I totally understand you crying, you have a kind heart and sometimes we cry. But I have faith that you will do what's best for this little one. And it's totally possible to have strength in the midst of tears. I wish you all the best. |
Oh my, for the fosters sake please pull it together..they understand when people are upset and their spirits could leave them....if you think they are dying. Do you have pictures you could post? What is wrong with her? |
She's got a bald spot from where they "accidentally" pulled out her hair when putting her top not in. I can feel everyone of her bones. Her hair is so matted, it beyond saving. :( :( |
Your doing a great thing for the little one. Just remember though, that your little furbabies are can sense how upset you are. Try to be strong for them. HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS;) |
That poor precious baby. Much easier said than done, I am sure - however, I have heard that our furbabies forget fairly quickly and it is only us feeling sad or bad for them that prolongs their agony. I pray for God's guidance and I am sending you huge huggs for your big heart. Lots of good thoughts and love headed your foster's and your way!! |
Hugs from me and my gang too. |
You are doing a wonderful thing for that furbaby! Now stop crying:) Have you bathed her and held her? She knows how upset you are. Try to calm down and relax so that she can too:):animal-pa ~~~Hugs to you... |
What rescue are you fostering for? Did they give you any instructions? Almost every yorkie I fostered/rescued had to be shaved...it is okay and they feel so much better when the hair is gone and they smell sweet. I am guessing her teeth are in terrible shape. What does the vet say? If you have not taken her to a vet I would not have her around your dog as she could spread diseases to your dog. Good food will fatten her up right away so you will feel better about that soon. |

Poor little thing....:(:( There are alot of people here with experience and will help you but from what I know - the advise you already got is right on target - you need to pull yourself together - she's feeling what you're feeling and will feed off that....it won't help her if you're very stressed out she just went thru a big move - even leaving a bad home can be traumatic for any dog...so if you can try to just act normal and let her adjust maybe she'll her come out of her shell but it may take some time. She sounds like she really needs love and has been thru alot so good for you bringing her into your home....I know the people who foster/rescue here will be offering you good advise so I'm shutting up and will just wish you all the best with her !! no more crying ok ??? |
Taking both girls for a walk. Rosie is amazing! She could teach Missy a thing about walking on a lose leash! Gotta get over it and start making Rosie' life better to make up for her past! Thank you. I can't keep crying and help her!!! |
Poor baby... just shower her with lots of love and be patient with her. It may take some time for her to build trust with you. Poor thing. :( I feel so bad for her. |
I understand how you feel. Im a foster mom too and I have definitely cried more than once on the first few days. It gets easier and you and the dog will adjust...go for your walk and that Im sure will help. Hang in there you are doing a great thing for that little girl. |

I know it has to be hard thinking of what she went thru but like you said - it's her past - you're her present |
{{{{{{{{{{{BIG HUGS!!!}}}}}}}}}} You are doing a wonderful thing for Rosie. It is natural to feel what you are feeling, and everyone has given you great advice! She needs you now, and you are going to make a huge difference in her life, you can be sure of that. :) |
3 Attachment(s) I gave Rosie a bath and gave her an advantage treatment. I brushed out what I could of her poor hair. Her skin is pink. Anybody know what this could be? Also, her eyes haven't been cleaned in a long time. She has crusty build up. :( How can I clean this off. For Missy I just use a warm towel and flea comb. But I'm afraid if i do this with Rosie I might hurt her :( Here are some pics of Rosie :) And of Missy hiding :*( Any advice on helping Missy too? Funnel that sadness and pity into taking the best care of her possible. I would definitely take her to the vet for a check up and have her shaved at the groomers. A good diet will assure her fur will grow back beautiful. She will fall right into your routine and your heart! |
I feel your pain, but you are doing a wonderful thing and helping a poor little baby that needs a new chance at a happy life! I cried a lot when we brought our Camden home. She also was matted all over and to the skin, she had to be shaved down, but it's hair and it will grow back! She will feel better too, because when they are that matted, it hurts to move. Just remember that you are making a difference!! |
She is beautiful....she'll be adopted quickly. Most of my fosters usually have to be shaved but if her fur isnt too matted and can be combed out it will help her get adopted. Yorkies with longer coats get adopted faster??? I would just use warm really wet cotton balls for her eyes and keep trying to work out the boogies, cut what you can. Sometimes if the eyes are really yucky there can be little sores under the boogs, I use a tiny dab a neosporin on the sore til it heals. |

You are such a kind person helping this little girl out. Bless your heart. |
The dog whisperer says dogs 'live for the day' so today and the rest of this baby's life will be great 'cos I know you will care for it well and it'll be found a great forever home. Forget 'before' love, and love it lots. God bless you. Hugs Shirl x x |
Her hair doesn't "look" that bad, it actually appears to be silky. Maybe you can gently work out the mats and trim her up a bit. A little love goes a long way, so focus on that and everything else will work out. |
She is a beautiful little girl. Just love her and she will never remember the bad stuff. My mom rehomed a little 4 yr old biewer who was matted to the skin. The groomer had to shave her and It has been 9 months and she is gorgeous now. You are a wonderful person to bring this little girl in. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all you wonderful ladies on YT who foster, I Know it has to be an emotional rollercoaster when you see these little ones who have been so horrible abused and neglected. Sending prayers and good thoughts your way. |
You are a WONDERFUL furbaby MOM. You have a heart as big as can be, we know that because you are fostering. Have one last good cry and then be happy as can be. Your new little love will come around. These days will soon be the past and you'll be joyful over the wonderful change you have brought in the life of this lucky little dog. Hugs to you both! |
My heart goes out to you. Being a foster mom for a rescue is not easy. You get to see the brutality of the human race. As hard as it is to see, I applaud you for being their last chance hope. Finding someone to care and love these most innocent victims of abuse should be of concern to all. Bless you for stepping up to the plate and doing something about it, and not just talking. |
Missy will come around, too. :) Just give her a little extra cuddle time with you. I agree Rosie is beautiful and should not have a problem finding someone to love her and give her a forever home. |
she is beautiful and you are awesome. You can do it !!!! The walk should help them become buddies too I would think. I agree with the vet visit though so your baby does not get anything. I agree on the warm cotton balls and flea comb just like you do your babies she is just the same :) I am so looking to how she progresses as i know you will do a great job :) Try not to cry anymore though as she will feed off your emotions even if it is hard. She is probably so darn happy to be with you and Missy just needs to warm up a bit so give her some extra loving too :) |
