[QUOTE=pinkii726;2975366]That is so awesome!! I take ZZ in Lowes. What in the creation could she bother in there??! Nails?! Everyone wants to pet her and blah blah but yeah. I never let them rub her or anything. I am always scared she will snap on them like she does with kids.QUOTE] no offense, but if your dog has a habit of being snippy, I wouldn't take them out...that could be quite dangerous in the sense of if she bit someone, they could VERY easily sue you...I totally understand not wanting to leave your little one behind, but you have to also think of the possible consequences of any bite from your dog. You could also muzzle her, just to be sure she won't snap at anyone, though that wouldn't be too fun for her. in response to the question, I've gotten Joey into bed, bath, and beyond, and both of them into petsmart and zamzows, and we snuck into a hotel with Joey once...that was fun with a moving dog in a backpack, and other people in the otherwise silent elevator... |

We left the "do not disturb" sign on the door, tipped the nice housekeeping lady for "extra towels" and not to bug us, and we put up a mattress blocking off the bedroom from the entry area to muffle her whines if she were to make any noise. She didn't really at that age, she was still very quiet. Oh we also kept the tv on too. Then come to find out, there was another hotel in the next town that was pet friendly anyway, AND there were a few vendors at the convention that had their pets with them! One was a tiny yorkie too. :D We could have just brought her along. |
I don't usually try to sneak my girls in anywhere that they are not welcome. I believe there are good reasons for such accomplishments ex. sanitary, health, liability etc. and there are some business that I believe should allow well-behaved, contained animals in, and they don't, I would just take my business elsewhere. I hate to leave my dogs at home, but they are animals, they are not meant to be taken to certain places. if I see tons of dogs running around in toysrus when I take my toddler there, I would be scared. I try hard to go to animal friendly places, outdoor shopping malls, restaurents with outdoor seating when weather permits, dog friendly parks, etc but I have to confess, I had to take my girl Dolly to pickup some Chinese food 2nite, I was on my way home from work, and I went to pick her up from daycare, and the chinese to go place is on the way home, I wasn't gonna leave her in the car, so I took her in a sling with me, everyone in there loved her but I still feel guilty because there's food around. |

I think they're not allowed in food markets, shops and supermarkets because of the hygiene laws. I only know of one place in England where dogs are allowed in cafes and shops and that's Lincolnshire. We always holiday there in England because of this. Hugs Shirl x x |

I hold her in my arms and I always tell them to pet at their own risk that she is a known snapper, most people don't try too much after that but I have always warned everyone. She always gives off her "teeth" warning and most people get the message. She was mishandled by her former Owner breeder, which is why she is so snappy. She has gotten better though, thank goodness, but most of her time now she spends in a stroller with a chewie not paying attention to anyone lol!! I got her into Marshall's here! I was so suprised and I was looking at pocketbooks and there was a lady sizing her pocketbook in regards to her Pomeranian! Haha! && people think Yorkie people are crazy, I think anyone with a small dog is a little bonkers =) They make us that way! |

oooohhhh....my mistake :) sorry...I was thinking you were just letting her out there for anyone to pet and whatnot. My apologies :) I see nothing wrong with that as long as there is the warning out there. Mistreatment always makes things a bit touchy, also. I had a horse once that hated pretty much all men because he'd been beaten by men. Oddly enough, though, he did like my dad. Haha, I'd rather be slightly snapped at by a small dog than a 1500 pound horse! |
The places we go..... I live in SoCal and I can take the boys to outdoor malls with no problem. San Diego is pretty dog friendly and many of the store employees told me that they would rather have the small dogs than small children. We have eaten at many restuarants that have outdoor seating with no problem. We have stayed at pet friendly hotels and for the previous YT member that went to Vegas....the Wynn Hotel is pet friendly as are several "nicer hotels". We had a great time at the Chili Cook-Off in Big Bear, CA. We had the boys in a stroller and everyone loved them. We were told to if they were in the stroller it would be okay, even though many people had their dogs on leashes only. The B&B was very pet friendly and there are several very nice ones that are up there. At my practice office (psychiatric) several of us have yorkies and bring them with us if needed. We also allow our patients to bring in their small dogs for their appointments. That is how I became a Yorkie mom, after one of my patients brought in her new baby!....I now have two boys and impatiently awaiting the homecoming of my new little girl in April! :D |

I am totally with you on that one. We used to have a Clydesdale horse (he wasn't a snapper) but I sure would have hated for him to snap/charge otherwise me! lOl:animal36 |
I have'nt read all the post yet but-----hoping I don't get killed here. Just my opinion. Where ever there is food I do not take my pup in. Also, I always ask at the door of where ever we are if it is okay. If they let us with Yorkies in then they would have to let all dogs in. What a mess that would be. PetSmart was so crowed with dogs the other day we were glad to get out of there. How do any of us know that everyone else's dogs have had all their shots. Just my opinion. LOL |
I always ask before I go into the mall, some malls do allow pets. Some other stores if I SEE one other person smuggling their dog, I will smuggle mine too. We wouldn't kill you here, just disagree =) |
