I am so sorry i think it is bad when people keep big dogs that are dangerous to the human race as well as helpless little furbabies. my neighbor has a boxer that growls at me anytime it see's me outside i wouldn't dare let it get close to one of my babies |
Sorry to hear the news of your baby being killed... I am actually not shocked to see some of the posts here... I feel that some of the people here are heartless, and to be honest mean, they don't think before they post, they just post the first thing that comes to their minds. I have posted a couple things on here and was under attack instantly. I should have done this or that, or I shouldn't have done that. Or I am training my dog to do this or that. When its all a bunch of crap. Since then I haven't posted personal stuff, vowed to NEVER do that again on here, because every time I do I get people making me feel like crap, and I am flat out sick of it. I love my boys with all my heart and WILL do what I can to keep them happy and healthy!! Like any place you will find online, you will always run into those who will treat you like that, and I thank my lucky stars that there are more helpful people here then there are of the unhelpful ones!! I wouldn't still be here had the bad outweighed the good. As for the loss of your baby, I am very VERY sorry that your family had to endure that. I live in a small area where there are several dogs, all different breeds and sizes, unfortuneatly mine are the smallest in the neighborhood. Out back we have two mean dogs, that look like giant pitbulls. The owner of them in the summer time rarely has them tied up NOR does he have a fence... Last summer when Nicky ( My yorkie ) was REAL teeny, ( not that he is huge now, hes only 4 pounds ) were out back and one of the dogs got a wiff of my dogs, ( I have a shih-tzu and a yorkie) Well once I saw it running toward us I picked up both my boys and screamed at the dog to go home. The owner came running after his dogs yelling for them to go home, all the while looking at me like I was the one that caused his dogs to come running at me. I came close to telling him where he could go... I was on MY property and HIS dogs were headed our way. I am just glad that nothing happened that day, I was the lucky one for sure. Please know that you are in the thoughts of many, I hope that you and your family can heal and remember all the happy times you had with your little girl, I am sure that she is still a treasure in your hearts. You are in my thoughts and prayers. HANG IN THERE and know that your little preciouse baby is watching over you from heaven!! |
I *really* hope this thread does not devolve into a debate about etiquette. If that argument has to happen, I'd like to suggest taking it to another thread so this poster has some space to grieve. I definitely have an opinion about some of what's been said here, but I'm going to keep it to myself, as it's obvious at this point that any comment about what's been said will just provoke another response, which will provoke someone else, etc. To the OP - I do not have any advice, but I am SO sorry, I know you must be absolutely devastated. |
Again I am VERY sorry for your loss... I still think some of the posts here were done without thinking of what the family is going through... Stop and think how you would feel had it happened to you. Thats all I am saying. DONE with the matter at hand... RIP BARBIE!! |
I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. RIP little one. :( |

Hugs to you as you face the long and lonley road to healing. You have many of us that will keep you supported as you grieve. Don't hesitate to post when you need positive thoughts and kind words on those difficult days ahead. You are not alone. |
Oh man I'm sorry ! Back when I had a house I could have had the same thing happen - woke up one morning and always checked my fence due to my neighbors dogs ....and found a big hole and a pitt on the other side ! it was their daughters dog but that dog was really trying to get into my yard - had I not checked the same thing could have happened to us.... I boarded it up with anything I could find and while my fence never looked the same - it was safe. I'm so sorry for your loss.... |
So very sorry for your loss.... My neighbors' big dog got loose one afternoon and headed over to another neighbor's house where a party was going on. One guest had brought her mini poodles with her. This dog went right over to one of the poodles, picked it up and with one shake the poor pup was dead. The owners of the big dog ended up paying the price of a replacement poodle to the woman, but that didn't seem like enough, bc you can never replace them. Everyone at the party was traumatized by the event, and children were witness to the deed also. It's such a shame when this happens, and I really feel the responsibility should rest on the owners of the big dogs. I'm tired of hearing oh, he won't bite, he's a sweetheart... when they fence fight with anything coming down the road. My neighbor has 2 Pit Bulls, and I'm sorry, but I don't even trust the fence, even when it's only me in the yard. When I have my Yorkies out, I keep halters and leads on them so I can get them quickly out of the yard when the need arises. If I had a fence fighting big dog, I would be sure to have a strong enough fence, bc I don't want anybody getting hurt, and possibly have to go through PTS my dog. Many big dog owners either just don't think or really don't care, bc it's not their dog that will suffer. PitBull on Steroids= Kane Corso |
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine the pain you have gone through. (((Hugs))) |
I'm so very sorry for you loss:( |
I am so very sorry for your tragic loss of your furbaby. :( My heart goes out to you in your time of great sorrow. May your baby rest in peace |

Ok, maybe beside the point here, but fences are overrated and can be breached by a dog who wants to. There's a pack of nasty dogs behind my yard and i left a hambone by the fence one night just to piss them off and in the morning there was a huge tunnel dug underneath. The embarrassed owner blocked that hole, but I know better. |
More to the point, I think it's more a community matter than a court matter, folks need to be encouraged to socialize their pets more. I'm amazed how well large dog park regulars treat small dogs and each other. I'm also amazed how many people have dogs. So many tired folks give up on their dogs, since they're so demanding, and they wind up caged and ignored and miserable and antisocial and dangerous. It's everybody's fault. More dog parks, and more walks, and more 'Yes! Dogs Welcome' signs. |
