My yorkie mix Bella is almost three, and we just got Rocco a couple weeks ago. She was very excited at first, but once he tried mounting her she didn't want anything to do with him for a few days. But she got over it pretty quickly (walking them together helps tons) and they've really bonded! Now she looks for him in the mornings, and doesn't even bat an eye when me and her daddy get ready to leave. I have so much more of a peace of mind knowing that she's not home alone while we're at work or class. I would suggest, if you don't plan on breeding, to get them fixed of course. Not only for the obvious reason, but so that hopefully the male's desire to mount her will lessen. This is the main that makes Bella irritated lol. Other than that, they are such a joy, and I'm so glad I have the best of both worlds! Good luck! |
I say go for it. Jada is three now and she was 2 1/2 when we got Bogie, he was 10 months at the time. They have gotten along from the get go. They sleep together, play together and are best buddies. |
I think boy/girl pairings usually work out well. We had Bandit (boy) first and when he was about 2 we got a girl puppy, but were concerned because Bandit can be dominant, but the girl turned out to be the dominant one, but only to Bandit. At doggie day care and the dog park she's on her back more than half the time:rolleyes: |
I think boy/girl works pretty well. At first I only had teddy and london and they get along great. When i added another girl in the mix london played with her more but they also had their fights here and there. Nothing too serious though |
