Thank you all for your kind words and support. It really means a lot to me to have friends that understand just how I'm feeling at such a difficult time. Even though I know there is nothing anyone can do to save my Brody it helps to talk about it. I joined yt looking for answers for Brody when I first got the news and soon learned that yt is a place I can come for great advice and a wealth of knowledge from people who really care.

I'll keep you all posted on how he is doing and thanks for the great suggestions on how to make my time left with Brody special.

Brody went to the vet today for his shots and the vet said not to waste my money his kidney values more than doubled since November. His bun is 92 and his creatinine is 4.5 and he doesn't feel he has much more time. The hard part is he is only 16 months old and even though I have 5 furbabies they are all different and special in their own way and I feel like life just won't be the same without him here. Even though I knew since he was 6 months old that his kidneys never developed and his life would be short I still can't let him go. I keep hoping he'll beat the odds and live longer than all the vets said he would.

At this point he gets sick to his stomach everyday and doesn't want to eat much. The vet was surprised that he gained a little weight. I've been home cooking for him since he won't eat his kidney food anymore. He hasn't had a bad attack since the end of November I guess that is why I'm so upset I thought he was doing a little better.

Thank you all for listening. It helps to be able to come here and talk about this where I know you understand how much my babies mean to me and how hard this is. :(

I am so sorry about Brody. My Dixie also had congenital kidney failure and sadly passed at 6 months. Her Bun was over 400. I did take her to a nephrologist and he thought he could help her but she had too low of a kidney function. He told me he had many yorkies in his practice that were doing fine on medicine and fluids. He said they could do well if they had 25% kidney function or more. Sadly, Dixie was at 17-19%. I don't know if you have tried a specialist but thought I would share my experience. I do know that when Dixie's time came there was no denying it and we let her go. My heart goes out to you and I will keep you all in my prayers.
