vet reference I live in a small(er) town, I ended up speaking to the vet tech at my vet's and thats how I found the breeder I adopted an older pup from last year, and this year will be getting a puppy from her. Breeders do a lot of the pup care themselves, but use vets for certain things too, so local vets would have knowledge about who the breeders in the area are, and also have some insight into the breeder themselves, and the general health and well being of the pups. I'm assuming this is one of the ways people found yorkies back in the "olden days" (pre-internet!!) :D |
We just got our puppy about 3 weeks ago from a breeder in Mulga, AL (near Ensley, B'ham, etc.). Not sure how far that is from you. I don't think this breeder shows, but we went to her house twice and were impressed with the temperament of our puppy's parents and all of the adult dogs she has (they live in the house as pets). We got to see and interact with the puppies she had so we could pick the one we thought would be the best fit with our family. Karen was great- available by phone and email for questions after we brought Natalie home (and for a few days we had lots!). Natalie is just precious- fabulous personality and the picture of health! Pm me if you'd like her contact info. |
