Do you have a song for your Yorkie? This topic may have already been brought up before but Shellygirlky made me want to start a new thread for this with her cute "Tucker Man" song. LOL. Does anyone else have a song that they sing to their Yorkie? I don't know if anyone remembers those 'My Buddy' dolls from the 80's but I changed the song from "My Buddy" to "My Tobie" and it goes... "My Tobie, My Tobie....Wherever I go, heee goes....My Tobie, My Tobie...My Tobie and me!!" |
I'm always singing james Blunts 'you're beautiful' to Molly. She looks up at me with a look that says..here we go again!! :D |
I sing Sophie my version of 'Waltzing Matilda' when I take her for a walk. It goes... Walking with Sophie, Walking with Sophie, my little Sophie goes walking with me and she wags, and she wags, and she wags her little tail off, when my little Sophie goes walking with me . |

I LOVE that!!! :):):) I am singing it in my head right now :):) CUTE!! |

Ha, Ha Thanks :p I wasn't sure how many would know the tune. BTW, Sophie is the only one who really likes my singing, lol! |
Haha! Pippi has tolerated my (terrible) singing voice since I've had her. One of her nicknames is "Toony Girl", or just plain "Toony" (cause she'd steal the cat's food, eat like there was no tomorrow, thus left w/a face-full of tuna fish. So, one day, I was humming something, and heard the dreidel (spelling?) song. (You know - dreidel dreidel dreidel, I made it out of clay... don't know all the words, either!). I just started singing to her (one 'tuna fish-y morning), "toony toony toony, I made you out of clay. And, when you're dry and ready, oh tooner I shall play" (<- maybe this is the song?) I thought it was funny & I always have to explain WHY I'm calling my Yorkie girl a tuna fish!! ;) |
Strangely Alfie seems to settle down to Susan Boyle. I got Alfie on my birthday and the Susan Boyle cd which hubby played in the car on the way home from the breeder. Alfie cuddled up all the way home, about an hour drive. I wonder whether he associates the music with meeting his new mummy (me) and all the kisses and cuddles he got. |
one day my boyfriend discovered that lexi likes to eat apples.. she can smack on them all day haha.. well he was watching south park one night, and i think it was butters on the show that sang a song thats simular.. scott made his own version. it goes: "lou, lou, lou, lou, :Dgot some apples, lou, lou, lou, lou, i got some too, lou, lou, lou, lou, got some apples, lou, lou, lou, lou, i love you!" |

Aww..that's so sweet:) |
I sing a song to her to the tune of "Little Boxes." The one that goes: "Little boxes, on the hillside, little boxes made of ticky-tacky ...." Except it's: Little Yorkies on the sidewalk Little Yorkies made of poops and kisses Little Yorkies on the sidewalk Little Yorkies, all the same. They've got greem bows They've got pink bows They've got blue bows They've got yellow bows And they're all made out of poops and kisses And they all look just the same. Then, of course, every Christmas song with the word "bell" in it got her name (Jezebel) subbed into it. I had versions of "Silver Bells" and "Jingle Bells:" Jezebel, Jezebel, It's Yorkie time in the city. Tingaling, hear them ring, Soon it will be Yorkie day. and ... Jezebel, Jezebel, Jezzie all the way, Oh, what fun it is to jump, run around and play, hey! Jezebel, Jezebel, Jezzie all the way, Oh, what fun it is to jump, run around and play! Yes, I'm a dork. :D I've always made up songs for my dogs. |
Hahahha, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who makes up songs for her Yorkie :D |

I think you guys might like this one, it makes for some pretty happy cuddles. For walking, I really liked 'Ev'ry time I go to town, the boys start kickin' my dawg around, I don't care if he is a hound, they better quict kickin' my dawg around'. I used to consider that a happy song, but there's a terrible shadow to the words after reading the other thread on here tonight. I will probably sing that a little heavier from now on. |
2 Attachment(s) HA ! I have this visual of all you walking around singing This is OLD and from a very funny thread - but thought I'd post it - It not what I sing - but what my yorkies sing - (Ok I lied - I had WAY TOO MUCH TIME on my hands once upon a time and wrote this rap) do MC Hammer in your head while reading * * * Can’t kiss this… We are 2 little girls Who love to run and play We also like to kiss So mommy says we’re gay Can’t Kiss This… We kiss when we are tired We kiss when we’re awake We kiss so much our mommy Somethimes thinks thinks we fake We never fake our kissin We always do it good That iswhy we are called The Gay Girls of Da Hood Can’t Kiss This…. Stop, Hammer time! Break it down….. Oh yeah we are 2 Gay girls Who kiss and play all day It’s Kiss me here and Kiss me there And the rest can go and play You really wish you knew us And if we met for real We’d grab your face and kiss you And probably cop a feel Can’t Kiss This… Our mommy really loves us She kisses us all day So really what we have Is a Girl on Girl 3-Way Can’t Kiss This…. |
Oh, MY! What wonderful songs you have for your babies! Ours, of course, is "Bicycle Built for Two." Daisy! Daisy! Give me your answer do! I'm half crazy All for the love of you! |
When ever we pull up our driveway Ella's always sitting on the back of the rocking chair peeking her head through the curtains of the picture window waiting for us, so sometimes i'll sing "How much is that doggy in the window, the one with the waggly tail, how much is that doggy in the window, i sure hope that doggy's for sale". My boyfriend thinks i'm crazy. =] |
LOL!~ Me and Shellygirlky are best friends...ever since kindergarten. We each got our Yorkies about the same time...(May,June of 09). We DO sing silly little songs to our dogs~ I think it's cute and think the dogs like it too:p Of all the things we have bought, done and shared together over the years, our Yorkies are the most treasured. I love mine beyond measure and I know how much she loves Daisy! Callie Lou was so finicky when I first got her...and so tiny,...that I would just about stand on my head to get her to eat. Our Yorkie-Poo however will eat ANYTHING! One thing that i caught Callie Lou doing one time was nibbling on a shortbread cookie of all things. She also likes to be picked up and held like a baby and rocked ) like on her back and swaddled. SO.....I do that all the time while singing this song..: Momma's little baby loves shortenin', shortenin... Momma's little baby loves shortenin' bread. Two little Yorkies, lyin' in bed One jus' fine but the other needs fed Went to the doctor and the doctor said "Feed ya'lls chil'ren on shawtnin' bread" Mommas little Yorkie loves Shawtnin', Shawtnin'... Mommas little Yorkie loves Shawtnin' bread! (notice I threw the southern drawl in on that last verse..;)) I also sing this when she uses her puppy pad to the tune of Polly Wolly doodle song: Oh, she used her puppy pad and it made her momma glad cause Callie Wallie doodles all day~! Aren't we silly?~~ But who cares!!! I love it!:p:aimeeyork |
Oh my how funny! I thought I was the only one who would possibly sing the shawtin' bread song to my Reese. Yes you definately have to do it southern style! I also sing.... "Reese Piece I love you so....never ever ever gonna let you go.... oooooooh girl you stole my heart....never ever ever gonna be apart." My DH thinks im insane, glad that you all know where im coming from. lol |
Just thought of the potty song to the tune of London Bridge. Lazy Daisy Pees and poos Pees and poos Pees and poos Lazy Daisy Pees and poos In the yard I told my boys ages 16 and 20 that they had to sing this gong when they take her out or she wouldn't go potty. Their reply "I'll take her out but I ain't singin that stupid shog so if she goes she goes if not" also "I'll tell her to go potty and that's it".;) |

Good to know I am not the only crazy one. I adapted the Rice-a-Roni jingle to fit Zeus. I changed San Francisco to Sahuarita the town we live in. Zeus-a-Roni- the Sahuarita treat! :D |
