Get Serious is the best product for this- I applied by night on the stains I saw under blacklight, then I blotted. The next morning I steam cleaned and, that night, no stains even under blacklight! Hooray! |
omg!! I'm laughing out loud! Not at you but with you. I recently got a black light, and had a field day going through my whole house!! EWWWW! I think the spots do still glow, but if you get down and smell, (I know disgusting) the odor isn't there if you've used enough product, and it has fully dried. The black light was the best worst thing I've ever bought! |

Had a conversation with someone recently who told their vet that their 11-year-old dog is house trained. The vet argued and said no dog is 100% all of the time house trained. I must say that I agree with the vet...dogs will sneak. |
I talked to a carpet cleaner about puppy pee on the carpet, and he said the only way you can truly get all the urine out is to take the carpet up, and clean it, where the cleaner goes all the way through the carpet and takes the urine out w/it...AND, you can't ever really clean the pad, so you must replace it...Well, shoot, after he told me that, I thought you might as well just get new carpet ...But I got laminate, instead, and omg'sh, that was the best idea in the world! |
I'm afraid to get a black light. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be pulling up the carpet and getting wood floors once the pup is trained! |
The natures miracle will work on the spots, but you have to clean them first the way it says on the bottle. I use a bissel spot bot to get up the urine and then treat with the NM. |
I use vinegar and water too |
Hey guys- in regard to the Stink Finder flashlight, you may (or may not ) want to take it with you next time you go to a hotel. Just check out the bedspreads or comforters and the bathroom! These things detect more than just doggie pee (ugh)! |
Ew. That's so nasty! If we still had carpets, I'd be terrified. |
I bought a black light at Petsmart (or Petco). My husband used it when I had gone to the other room and when I came back in he told me that I just didn't want to know what it showed. I almost freaked out when I saw all the spots. But I read what was on the box and it said that "Optical bleaches found in most detergents and soap will flouresce a brillientt blue-whie, Lubrication oils and greases a green-white to blue white or brown. Pet contamination will appear as a weaker flourescence when compared to most of the other materials". Also to keep in mind that the spot under the capert...on the pad below...is 2 to 3 times larger than what is seen on the top of the carpet. I felt better knowing that most of the spots were from cleaners I used rather than urine. Maybe that is what you have too. |
