I have often wonder if dogs forget their 1st owners when rehome or left behind for one reason or another. Well I found out the answer to my question the other day. My husband and I have been keeping servicemen dogs since the war started at one time we had 8 dogs with us most have gone back to their owners but 4 are still here including my son lab, 2 other labs and a jack russell.

Millie my son lab. has always remember my son when he comes home and is happy to see him and is his shadow when he is here and sad when he leaves again I always thought that Millie remember him because of us and being with us off and on from puppy hood. my son tries to come home after ever tour from IRAQ.

But the other day I got the saw the true love a dog has for his owner and I must say it left me in tears. Ziggy has not seen his owner in 2yrs because his owner has been back and forth to IRAQ. we were all kinda concern when Ziggy started barking hair raise on his back teeth showing but keith his owner step out of the car and in an instance ziggy remember who he was and ran and jump on him both were rolling on the ground with excitment. I was in tears to say the least. Keith stay for about 3hrs with ziggy and then he had to leave again. Ziggy is only 4yrs old.

I prayed this war will be over soon and all the servicemen families and their pets will once again be together again, in the meantine Ziggy and others will wait for their owners to return for them and take them home.
