I'm "mommy" and my husband is "daddy". My DH says that we're like those people who can't have kids, calling ourselves mommy and daddy to a dog. I still have some bounderies on human children/dogs (especially things made for dogs), but ya he's my babydoggy i call him, among other names...lol |
I used to be judgemental of "those" people..... I now am one of "those" people :D I'm a teacher and sometimes (okay, most of the time) think yorkies are better than kids lol |
I've lived with Yorkies for 16 years now and love them and their crazy antics like everyone here. Even as a guy, I can't help but want to hold them on my lap or shoulder and pet them/talk to them like you would a baby sometimes :p. They lower my blood pressure and are so darn cute, you can't help but baby them! :D |
Oh I definetely feel this way and we have only have our little Charlie Peanut for about a month and a half. I wish that I could call the house from work just so that he could hear me for a few minutes. He is such a joy and I could not love him more.:) |
What is it about these little dogs that just hooks us? For years I wasn't a dog person. I loved cats, but I always wanted a dog, just never found one I bonded with. I had always thought I might want a Yorkie, and now I am a real dog person, buit I am a total Yorkie NUT!:D |

:D I'm a teacher too!! I totally agree. |
Your post touched my heart. I can totally relate. My 10 month Yorkie is my #1 snuggle muffin. I love her to death. What a joy to play and teach her new things. I talk about her so much people give me the "here she goes again" look...LOL Her addition to my family has been the best thing ever. Keep enjoying your two loves! |
Oh yeah, I am one of they crazy Yorkie mommies too - I absolutely think of Rio as my baby, and my DH does too. She is our pride and joy, and she goes EVERYWHERE with us. We even bring her to a babysitter (my brother and sister-in-law) when we are at work so she is never alone. I just love her so so so so so much! My DH and I weren't blessed with children, but we are blessed with our furbaby. :heart to |
So normal! :D My MIL does not understand this at all. I have skipped out of many family get togethers at her house because she will not allow them i n her house. At first she would say don't bring them at all, so I refused to come. When she realized that is why I wouldn't come she said bring them and they can stay on the porch. I did bring them a couple of times but when we go we are always there for a couple of days at least and they had to stay out no matter the weather on the screened in porch in thier pen. It was miserable for them since of course they are not used to that and miserable for me because all I did was worry about them. Are they cold, are they hot, are the ants getting into thier food. She just does not get it that they are part of the family, they are just dogs... No they are not. I think she needs a Yorkie and then maybe she will get it. :D |

I seriously need this therapy! It would be fun to see you guys there. LOL!!! |
Yup, you are totally normal! :) Well, to other people it may not be 'normal', but to other 'Yorkie people' you are just like the rest of us. |
There have been a lot of replies to this already and I admit that I didn't read them all but, to me, Tobie even has more human-like qualities than my other dogs do. I think he understands more and acts like a little 3 year old or something. LOL. Maybe that makes me crazy :) |
Nope, I just see my them as dogs. :p Just kidding :D They're my babies , and since I have all sons they are they only girls I will ever have so needless to say they are our little princess'.... yes , I need serious help  Chloe is so little and cuddly and I swear she can almost read my mind at times , I can't help but think of her as my baby. |
Well, I haven't read all the posts but I can say that I'm right there needing help if this is a disorder to love these little ones like I do. They are my world and that's all there is too it. :) |
Nope, I wouldn't say crazy, lol. I have 4 children...Three living, ages 6, 4 and 2, and my husband didn't want to have any more. I couldn't talk him into more, and believe me I tried, haha. I come from a family with more children (I'm the oldest of 6), so I wanted the big family. My husband is an only child, and he didn't initially want children, but knowing that I did, and spending time with my little brother brought him around. Anyhow, my youngest turned 2 in November. I started getting baby fever something fierce, but another baby isn't going to happen unless the gods intervene, lol...Tubal ligation. She's still my baby, but she's just getting so big, you know? Galahad came to us just before her second birthday, needing lots of TLC, and it really helped with the baby fever. I still ooh and ahh over wee tinies when I see them in the store, but I come home and cradle him in my arms like a baby, and he's content to just lay there and let me stroke his little fluffy face. |
