| AKC or CKC I have a female who is AKC registered and a male who came with CKC registration papers. I have not registered him yet. He was a Christmas present. Should I try to register him AKC so that they will both be AKC registered in the future if they have puppies. Or should I go ahead and register him CKC and get my female CKC registered so that their puppies will be CKC? Is one better than the other? Thanks again.

| You can only register AKC if both parents are AKC

If by CKC you mean Continental, they can both be reg, but is JUST a PET registry... But if you are not breeding, it does not matter...

| Yeah the papers are nice to have, but not necessary unless breeding or showing.

| She does say she might breed them in the future. Since he is not AKC, the puppies couldn't be either. |
