I've never kept anyone from petting my girls. They love the attention and it's good to be able to socialize them all the time. ;) |

I enjoy showing mine off, I don't take mine out often but when I do, I expect attention. :p I do not allow children to pick them up, and most adults don't even attemopt to. but if they want to pet them, that's great. And then I give them my business card. :D |
Wow this thread shocked me. I'm sorry I don't have a line for you as I always let people touch (Not hold or pick up) my babies. I even thank them for helping them to meet new people. But we live in a small town and people aren't as grabby here. |
I too let people pet my tribe, but I don't let young children. I think it's good for them. I guess if Yorkies were not so d*** cute we wouldn't have this problem.;) |
We have 16 grandchildren, so our two furbabies are very sociable when it comes to children and they actually expect to be petted when they see kids at the park, petco, etc. However, we never allow children to pick them up but we always encourage petting as long as they pet them in a gentle manner. Our furbabies love the attention. |
We took Scarlett to Mall of America over the weekend....some grubby/nasty kids came up wanting to pet her...I was not impressed as I had just watched them punch/hit/kick and be nasty to their siblings. I said she was a service dog---and couldn't be touched! She is providing a service to me----all the puppy love I want! :) She is very social-I just felt I needed to protect her from rough housing. |
