You are to be commended for taking that adorable puppy out of that horrible woman's hands. I cannot believe someone would feed a tiny puppy Doritos!!! You are truly that little adorable baby's, Christmas Angel.

Feeding her Doritos!!!! Oh my goodness, thank GOD you came along and took that sweet little baby. She is just adorable and you sound like you are doing such a good job with her.

Do you need anything for her? I have a few small sweaters and tee shirts and I have a really cute extra small harness with lots of bling (it looks like a butterfly). I would more than happy to send them to you,

I have tried putting the petstages cuddle buddy in her crate. It is the one that you warm up in the microwave. It helped a little, but not much. I am so tired!
Good for you.......The sad thing is you see this alot on street corners across the US......I could just wack these people.

If your vet says this puppy is only 5 weeks of age then it probably is waking up as often as she is because she's hungry. Mother's milk lets down every 2 hours......Is her elimination process functioning normally? You might try diapering her...Cotton Ball with warm water and rubbing gently. Have plenty of baby wipes available. You are the mommy now.....good luck, you have a great heart.

I don't know if this is for you or not, but when we rescued a 6 week old pomerian, she too whimper and cried out all night long, after 48 hours I was a zombie and needed sleep. I put Tiff in a pet taxie with a warmed towel from the dryer and put this beside me on the bed. She still was whimpering so I opened the door and put my hand inside. We slept for almost 3 hours. Then that night, I put her back in the taxie and put the mesh part beside my head so if she whimpered I would coo at her and she settled down and slept for another 3 hours. After the 3rd night I put her on the night stand beside the bed. Then the next night I put the taxie on the floor and she became very comfortable with this. She stayed in our room for about 2 months until I got Joey then they stayed in their kennels in the den. This might not be what you want to do, it just worked for me.

You are so awesome!!! I am so glad that cute little furball found you!!!!! What you did is so wonderful! I hope Santa brings you lots of extra goodies for saving this little angel from a potentially horrible existence. :) :) you are her gaurdian angel!

It's hard to imagine people being so stupid. People who do these things
still consider a dog a dog. They think they have no feelings at all.

I hope one works. Because of it's age I tend to believe it's hungray as
well during the night. Hang in there, things will settle down soon I hope

great suggestion - I wanted to add that if she knows the other 2 dogs are in the room with you - that can cause her to feel left out. I agree with feeding her more often if she's only 5-6 weeks old.

Thanks for taking her in - that was such a nice thing to do. :thumbup:

You are such a sweetheart! I don't need anything for her.... I am only her temporary mama... but if you need to get rid of things, I WOULD be so happy to give them to her new daddy when he takes her home. I have been putting together a care package for them and could throw them in there :)

We are feeding her 4 times during the day and usually once during the night.... we are trying to stretch it so she sleeps a little longer during the night. We feed her usually around midnight or 1am when we go to bed and then try and wait until around 6.... do you think that is too long?

Also, what is a good age to start switching the puppy over to dry food? I got Lucy at 10 weeks, so raising her was 100% different.

I could deffinately tell in the picture that she is about 5 weeks only. She actually looks around 4 weeks. I cant believe this person selling a puppy soooo freaking young! Yes you will have sleepless nights because she is missing her mommy so you will become her mommy and she will be totally attached to you big time!

Get her a ticking toy. They sell something like that at PetSmart or Petsupermarket. It throbs like a heartbeat like if the mommy is next to her.

I'm glad you got her

Her new daddy just sent me an email and said that he actually bought her the teddy with the heartbeat for xmas!!! Thank god! So I am going to go pick it up tomorrow.

She is already spoiled and she's not even with her new family haha.

I know it really upset me so I stop posting in that thread. I don't know how people could even begin to say that doing something like was okay. It's like they were saying me or the dog. Puh, my dogs are part of my family and when it comes down to it, they always eat first, just like if I had children.

I totally agree. my puppies are my kids and they come first. I can take care of myself.... but they need me to take care of them. They are completely helpless and if we don't look out for them and take care of them then they are completely helpless. There are so many ways to make extra cash without over breeding and selling innocent little puppies. I don't see how somebody can see the economy as an excuse....UGH!

It just makes me sick. I can go on and on about this forever haha.

Haha....i think I have watched every sitcom known to man in the last two months, nothing really makes the loneliness go away. Wish he was here.

Everyday is getting better..... But she still cries ever couple hours because she wants to play or eat. My puppies have always slept in bed with me so I have neve done this crate training thing before and man is it hard!

This the season for unethical puppy sales galore, yeesh! Everywhere there are people selling off the streets and in high traffic area's. In front of Target? Since it is illegal you would think Target would have told her to leave. Dorito's? :mad: Dorito's to an actual 5 week old puppy is even worse!!!

aww...she's adorable!! It's terrible what someone would do to sell a puppy for some quick cash.
I must admit...my boys have had doritos before...I know, I know, bad mommy.
There's no way that little one is 8 weeks old - she's so itty bitty, and you can just tell she's younger than that. I'm sure that because of you she'll have a better life than with that lady :)
