I'm so heartbroken,, I wrote a letter to my breeder where I bought my baby. this letter can summarize what is going on. my name is christine and I bought adam one year ago. I just wanted to tell you that he had a siezure today. This was the first time I ever seen him like this. It was so scary and heartbreaking, I wanted to do something but I couldn’t. I just held him as he wouldn’t stop convulsing. It felt like forever but I think it lasted 3-4 minutes. I was in the middle of doing Kim’s makeup today and we kept hearing a rattling noise. We looked down and there he was, shaking like there’s no tomorrow. His face had no expression. I wish I knew what is going inside of his head. I knew he had a neurological problems when I first had him. But the doctor suggested to bring him to a neurologist and get an mri scan. That’s already close to a thousand. He also needs two knee surgeries and a hip surgery. That is already up to 6-7 thousand. There is also a concern that what If I do pay for everything and he’s not guaranteed to make it because of another problem he may have. It's bad enough that he is blind in his left eye, and the soft spot on his head never closed. Even though you sent me a second dog, nothing replaces the recklessness of you selling me a very sick dog. It's been a whole year and I can't just leave him like this but for you to sent me a dog where I have to pay an extra 10,000 to take care of him is very wrong. I hope other families aren't in the same position that I am because of your carelessness. their site is Sunnyview Kennel Puppies For Sale I wish I can do something to let people know about their site. |
By telling your story to as many websites as you can, You are doing something. Where are these people located? Try finding out if they have an AKC and you should contact AKC and report what happened to you. I just saw their main page and they offer 11 different breeds??? That is a big redflag and they might be a puppymill. I'm so sorry for all your heartache. And you are right, a new puppy from them is no consolation Gen |
their reason for having that many breeds were "we're a family of breeders, not just one"... It is very obvious that cody's condition was because of poor breeding with health problems. Im just so frustrated. Cody's is the sweetest dog, he doesn't bark or make trouble. he's very shy and loves to cuddle ... =/ |
This is their response to cody's situtation... their telling me to put him to sleep He was given a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian here and never had a problem under our care. We can't look into the future and see what may happen! Can you look in the future and tell me you won't have a sickness or problem next month? If we would have known the puppy had a problem, he would not have been sent! We took your word that something was wrong and more than honored the contract you agreed to on our website by sending you another puppy. It may be hard for you to understand or do but, in the animal world when there is a severe problem, it may be best to put them to sleep and move on with your other puppy. If he's having all these problems as you say, what kind of life does he have? Our contract states a one time replacement puppy which has been done so, all requirements has been met. We have already listened to your complaints and have replaced your puppy, which according to our contract we did not have to do since your puppy is still living. It was your decision to continue to treat the puppy and, if he is having seizures, leg problems and whatever else, then you are being cruel by prolonging his life. There is absolutely no reason at all for you to still be e mailing us about this situation so, in short, do not call or e mail us about this as we have already more than honored our contract. |
They are offering very poor quality puppies..and they comment about one reason for a price reduction.."A patch of missing hair"...that is almost never due to roughhousing with other pups...I would put money on a ring worm problem.. Too many red flags... |
i dont know what to do. i can't believe they told me to put him to sleep, i can't stop crying about this.. |
I am so sorry to hear about Adam's problems.. It is heartbreaking:unlove: I wish I could help you. You've done the right thing by exposing the culprits to thousands and thousands of yorkie lovers. |
That site is SCREAMING puppymill  It sounds like your puppy had many issues and the seizures are probably due to the open fontanel on his skull. Is he very tiny? His LP is most likely heriditary and should be covered by a health guarantee. I do not know if you have legal recourse since they sent you a replacement puppy. You should look into the puppy lemon laws in your state. This is so very sad. :( |
Im deeply sorry for what you and cody are going through and you did the right thing by posting this because lots of first time yorkie buyers come here and ask for advice on where to purchase there next family member (i know i did) and you just warned someone of where they shouldnt go, you did the right thing christine and i know it hurts but you are saving someone else from the same pain i hope you find comfort in knowing your helping warn others.. Try to be strong and continue to spread the word and i know its easier said then done. |
thank you everyone for their support, i do feel stronger about this... I googled their name and they are on ripoff.com with two complaints. Each case sounds similar to mines. I dont care about the legal battle because I knew i messed up once I received the second puppy. I could of made it into a bigger case due to cody's condition but i didn't want to make it a problem at the time. now I'm just so fustrated.. I'm planning to spread the word everywhere on the internet possible. The deserved to be closed down. |
You look very young. If treating his medical conditions is going to cause you financial hardship. You might want to consider turning him over to a rescue organization. I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with this. I wish we could get to people sooner about the grief of buying from puppy mills. Post a complaint about them on ripoff, and also with the BBB in their state. Good luck on whatever you decide. |
I'm very very sad to hear your story, why they never understand no one could ever replace other one? The idea of "letting him sleep" made me cry, Cody looks so happy in the pictures, how would they suggested this? Stay strong for your Cody, I hope you get the funds to bring him to vet, I'm sorry I'm unable to help as I'm now saving to bring my furbaby to get spayed |
This is heartbreaking. I am so sorry that you and your baby are going through this. As others have said- this place SCREAMS puppy mill. Have you thought about calling the Police or the SPCA or the humane society and they can look into the place? This place needs to get shut down and by taking a stand and making it happen you can save the lives or so many dogs and puppies! I wish I could help you get your puppy the help that he needs. That poor thing. So sad. |
Thanks everyone for your support, I'm glad I can turn to here when I have a problem |
How terrible that one little puppy could have so many problems. That's sad. They should be completely ashamed of themselves but I know they won't be. Sure looks like a puppymiller but that's of no help to you now. All I can do is wish you good luck and I hope and pray your boy can be made comfortable. Someone suggested a rescue, that's a good idea but I know it would be very hard for you to release him. It there's hope he can have a good life with some of his medical issues taken care of and you can't afford to do that maybe that's how you have to look at it. Your giving him life if you give him up. Whatever you decide to do I pray you find strength and peace with your decision. |

 What a disgusting attitude and business they have! I am so sorry for your Cody being a sick puppy. This place is a puppymill and should be shut down. I wish you well in your future with Cody. |
I would be careful about slamming them too much. As they stated they sent you a replacement puppy which does mean they followed through with what their contract says. Does that make it right? Absolutely not!!!! But, they did honor their contract however bad that may be. They could turn this around and pursue legal action against you. I am not saying you should not tell your story either. Just warning you to be careful. Also I seen on that site they are in Missouri, and the puppy on the very first page of their site, doesn't even have a normal looking left eye. I am so sorry for your heartache. So very sorry. |
I am so sorry about your Cody, and I hope things will get better. I was just wondering though, could some of his problems be related to when your Grandpa stepped on him last year? He acted very hurt, and it was several days before he went to the vet? Just wondering |
is there any advice for trying to shut down a puppy mill and how would they turn it against me? Also regarding my grandpa, I talked to him afterwards and the veterinarian, my grandpa didn't put his full force on cody, he didn't actually step on cody but cody was behind his foot and my grandpa took a step back but as soon as he felt something he moved forward. When I told the vetinarian, she told me that he could have froze in state of shock but when he frequently spun around, that was due to his neurological problems. There were other things that was just wrong with him since birth. You can see cody's eyes pointing outwards and I didn't know at the time if it was normal or abnormal. The breeder told me it was a "defense mechanism to see their sides better." Then the two lp on his back leg and there's three opening on the top of cody's head that never closed. I'm currently saving up for Cody's lp surgeries but just the whole neurological thing is getting me overwhelmed. |

Thank you :) i keep telling myself that even with cody's condition, i'm glad I have him because I know I'll do everything I can to take care of him. Rather then if he was in someone elses hands, who knows how they would handle the situation. The last thing I would want is to put cody to sleep. |

I would like to mention that each state has it's own laws and even though they honored their contract and replaced the puppy, she is still in her right to complain and take action against them. Especially since they replaced the puppy with ANOTHER sick puppy. This should be brought to the attention of local legal authorities, animal rights activist, and to the public. This place needs to be shut down! The puppies on their website look awful and unhealthy. She has nothing to fear if she takes the proper legal steps to bringing them down. They on the other hand will start shaking in their boots, once they are properly exposed. |
sorry the second puppy is healthy |

Oh okay I misunderstood that. How old is the second puppy? I would still take action and bring this place to the attention of the public. I bet there are many other sick puppy owner/clients from them. |
The second one is 6 months, i have read a complaint on bbb and 2 complaints on ripoff report, i'm sure there are more complaints though |

Then I say if you have the time and patience...go for it! |

There must be some type of support group for people who have pups with Hydrocephalus. My other thought on this is if the LP is not causing a huge problem you might be better saving your money to go toward his other much larger issues. Does he have seizures? With all of the problems that he is facing what are your vets thoughts on his quality of life and life expectancy? :( I\'m not sure what the current legislation in Missouri is but maybe if you contacted the state representative with your story it might get some attention. As cruel as it was that this horrible place told you just to have him PTS it is a decisions that you just might be faced with in the future. I know might sounds really cold but some times it is the most loving and unselfish thing to do IF it comes to quality of life. Unfortunately, for some pups even rescue is not the answer. Rescues can give the same love and caring that you are giving but when it is neurological many times that is all that can be done when it comes to issues like Cody has. :( |
Hi I am sorry about your puppies being sick, but I found this on the ASPCA and its really sad as you probably wouldn\'t have a case b/c of this: 5. Internet Buyers, Beware! Buying a puppy from the Internet is as risky as buying from a pet store. If you buy a puppy based on a picture and a phone call, you have no way of seeing the puppy’s breeding premises or meeting his parents. And those who sell animals on the Internet are not held to the Animal Welfare Act regulations, and so are not inspected by the USDA. |
