Where does your yorkie sleep? Rambo has been doing good sleeping in the kitchen. Until this week. He now cries almost evey night. We have been told that it is because he knows we are in our room and that is where he wants to sleep. We have no problem with this except that every morning when he would sleep in the kitchen we would have to clean poo and pee off of the ground. I am worried that if we let him sleep in our bedroom that he will poo and pee everywhere. He does go on his pee pee pads in the kitchen when hes in there, but he also goes on the floor. I dunno what to do. What do you guys think? |
How old is he? Cosmo sleeps in my bed with me he just whines when he wants down and goes to his pad. He has been doing this since about 3 months old and he is now 7 months. BTW, welcome to yt. |
I a crate cause they still aren't potty trained. They are directly in front of the chimney. |
Dinero sleeps with us...for the same reason..he cried...and we couldn't sleep!! |
Rowdy slept in his crate for the first few months. He would yip if he needed to go out during the night. Later though, he didn't yip to go out, he could hold it all night long. Then my hubby wanted him to sleep with us but I worried that I would roll on him or that he would potty in the bed, since he had a bigger place to go than in the kennel. Well, I'm happy to report that neither of these things happened. I did worry ALOT at first that I would roll on him - but finally I relaxed and now he usually sleeps between our pillows at the head of the bed (last night he actually spooned my head - I had a Rowdy cap - and I had to move him because I was SWEATING). He's been in bed with us for a couple of months now and no accidents! :D |
Our girls never pood or peed in the bedroom. We were told that dog don't go in their own sleeping place. Your little one doing it in the kitchen is probably loneliness or stress from being apart from the flock... So I wouldn't worry about poo or pee, but more about how much of the beds yorkies are able to steal away once they first get in there :) My girls sleep next to me, tight up against me or on me. Mare loves to sleep on my hip, I guess she can feel the warmth and my heart. :) |
Mojo sleeps in his own room and his own bed where he kindly let's me share with him!!! |
I'm lucky that my two yorkies let me sleep in the bed with them. <<big grin>> Talk about bed hogs!!! Geesh. For them to be so little, they take up a lot of room!! |
My Ginger sleeps in the bed with my husband & me. She prefers to be next to me, & loves to cuddle. |
Bailey sleeps in his crate in our 2nd bedroom. I'd love to have him sleep with us in bed but my fiance won't allow it. He's worried about him going to the bathroom in bed & being woken up by Bailey. |
Tucker sleeps with my mom. He has been since a few days after we got him. he isn't house broken, but never goes potty on the bed. |

Hes only 12 weeks old. So maybe its to early? |
I started letting Indiana sleep in the bed with us when I found out he had a liver shunt. He had been sleeping in the crate on the floor next to me and was sleeping nicely through the night with no accidents but my husband said no more dogs on the bed. Kansas (my Jack) sleeps only at the foot of the bed on top of the pillows I throw there. She is the THE QUEEN and must have a high place to survey her kingdom and other doggy subjects. She doesn't cuddle or snuggle. When I found out Indy was sick I decided that if he didn't have much longer to live he was going to get to sleep on the bed with us. I put his belly band on him just in case, but he hasn't needed it. He sleeps cuddled up between us. Now that he's had the surgery and hopefully will be fine, I don't have the heart to put him back in his crate! |
In my bed. |
We've got two in our bed and two pups in our kitchen but are going to start transitioning the pups to our bed. I just prefer them there and they are so pitiful when the lights go out in the kitchen and I shut the door:( They follow and look at you like..."why can't I come in there" :( I just like having ours have free roam of the house. It makes me happier and them too :) |
