My dog chases Elvis every chance she gets! It is all I can do and then some to get her quieted down after he visits. Sigh! ;) |
Whatever, you can't blame the four-year-old, or the mom for not educating him. IMHO you should have told the mom that little dogs need to be treated gently, and you are upset at what her child did, although you understand he's only four. You can still do this now and see what she says. If she doesn't understand you probably don't need her as a friend. The positive part of this story is it sounds like you have a very well behaved dog. Otherwise we'd be hearing a different story about how you are being sued and all that. |
I understand how upset you must be over what happened to your little baby, as I would be too. But, I agree with what other posters on here said, that I don't think you reacted correctly by grabbing her childs ear. You don't fight fire with fire. You should have taken your dog back right away and went straight to his mother and explained what happened. I think she's upset because you didn't go to her with the problem, you handled it yourself. You can't expect her to discipline her child when technicall you did it for her. If possible, next time you have children over, don't just put her in the crate, lock the door behind you! Keep trying to call her, she'll come around eventually. If not, maybe she really wasn't a true friend. Is your little baby OK, though?? Oh... Merry Christmas! |
