Tongue Out? 1 Attachment(s) I just got my new baby today and he likes to let his tongue hang out of his mouth at times. He's actually doing it right now when he's sleeping. Is this normal? Has anyone had a Yorkie that does this? |
Cant really answer your question my yorkie dosent do that unless shes panting when she hot but I had to comment on how cute that picture is! Hes so cute! |

Daisy does that sometimes. It is so cute. I would only worry if they did it all the time, even when awake. |
Cabella does this My female Cabella does this and mostly while she is resting/sleeping. I guess they are so sure of themselfs they let it all hang out when they are resting!!! lol. My male Joey has never done this. It seems as though Cabella's tougne is longer than Joey's don't know this for sure but she seems to be able to lick futher than he does. I don't know if a longer tounge is the cause or not, BUT IT SURE IS CUTE!!!! Congrats on your new baby, he sure is adorable. |

1 Attachment(s) Your baby is precious! And yes my Lulu has been doing that since she was six months old. I first noticed it when I was reprimanding her behavior. She turned and looked at me and stuck her tongue out!!! Ever since then, if she doesn't understand what I am saying to her - out comes her tongue. I love it. She even sleeps with it hanging out. Here is a pic of her, she is now 5 yrs. |

JoJo's tongue sometimes sticks out slightly when he's really tired or sleeping. The cutest thing is sometimes he starts nodding off while sitting up (he tries so hard to stay awake for fear he'll miss something lol), and when that lil tongue slips out sometimes I mess with him by lightly flicking it with my finger lol. :p |
My Mazie, English Cocker Spaniel, does it too, only it's about an inch of her tongue hanging out. It gets so dry, but she doesn't care, she's sleeping! |

Your furbaby's mouth looks exactly like my Bug's when she sleeps. The vet pointed out to me that it was due to a slight overbite. Once I started really looking closely, darned if she wasn't right, she IS a bit buck toothed. As she has gotten a bit older it has corrected itself quite a bit more than the vet thought it would. She still has a slight overbite but not as bad, and it means her tongue doesn't stick out nearly as much and not when she is asleep anymore. I'm not saying that is your baby's problem or that there is a problem, just may want to ask the vet... doesn't matter, cute as heck!!!!! |

I just got a new baby too about a month ago she sticks her tongue out also...But Tootsie, my first yorkie has never done it??? |
My furbaby always does this too, but I never worried about this, I think it's normal as all the members said so :D |
My yorkie now rarely does that and only when awake (usualy when she is sitting and looking intently on something: thinking hard) - but last yorkie did it all the time - I'm convinced it's just a yorkie thing. |
My Nicky does this sometimes, The other night I took a picture of him so I have proof to show people that I am not nuts that he does sometimes sleep with his tongue out... I once said to someone, "LOOK NICKY HAS HIS TONGUE OUT!!" well naturally when I said that he stuck it back in after I said that so the person went, Yea right ange, whatever!! lol... now I have proof that he sleeps with that adorable tongue sticking out!! lol Adorable baby you have there!! My little guy Skyler has been doing this since we got him at 9 weeks. I think it is adorable!!!! He mostly does it when he sleeps but sometimes it will sneak out when he is awake too. The vet tech said he has the longest tongue she ever saw LOL. Your furbaby is so cute and his little tongue that hangs out makes him even cuter if thats possible.:D |
Its in the nature of a yorkie to stick its tongue out to show off its cuteness lol. But I have never seen them do this while sleeping but just wait to see what other reponses you get I'm sure its nothing |
Well I'm very glad that this seems to be a typical Yorkie thing. Now that I'm not so paranoid about it, I find it to be very cute! |
