Feel Like I Made a Mistake Rant I ran to the Dollar General Store earlier this evening b/c I ran out of Gain while doing laundry. Well, as I exited the store, I saw a little Yorkie sitting pretty as you please in a Christmas sweater on a retractable leash with its handle under the wheel of a buggy!!!! I FREAKED out! (I immedialty thought of Gen's little Cookie.) Anyone, even me, could've taken her. I put my bags down and started talking to the little baby. She wagger her little tail and was pawing at me. I was just about to pick her up when FINALLY, a lady came out and took the leash. I told her I thought I had found me a baby someone had abandoned. She looked at me with a distgusted look and said, "Oh no! she always comes here with me." then she took off down the sidewalk. Not that I would EVER take another person's animal, I just wanted to let her know that people will see her and may just take her. Now, I am thinking I should have said more or done something....but what. ARG! I thought of how desperatly Gen is searching for Cookie and Lorraine who thought her baby was missing. |
Always comes here with me...one day she will be sorry she is such an idiot! |
People like that do not deserve a pet! |
Sounds like a lady who doesn't want to leave her doggie in the comfort of a warm car, If she had a buggy, why didn't she just take her in the store with her? Ive done that with my boys and people LOVE it... I always get oh isn't that doggie cute and OH look at that puppy how darling. I even get people who say... they make those for dogs? lol... I would have sarcasticaly said... "Gee lady Merry Christmas to you too, hope that someone doesn't just take her some day, then you will wish you had taken better care of your baby!" I can't stand people who act like that!! UGH |
I don't know what she was thinking. I just keep thinking about the little dog, worrying about her. They do sell food, so I don't know if she could've teken her in, but leave her at home then! |
I think you did good!! At least by saying what you did.....maybe it got her to thinking, "She was going to take my baby." Hopefully she will not being leaving her alone anymore. |
Wow, some people! I can't believe she would take such a chance with her little one! |
I do love Dollar Store FINDS. :D |
I'd never leave my babies :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork alone. Mine sit up in the baby part of the carriage when we go to home depot. Teddy :animal36 can't come because he is not able to sit still but Barney :aimeeyork and Daisy :aimeeyork sit there like angels while Daddy buys stuff. We were kicked out of Walmart I must add. Refuse to shop there because of that!!! Well, at least at one location :) |
That woman is an idiot. It's just a matter of time before someone takes her dog. :thumbdown Would she leave her pocketbook outside unattended? |
This is why I never take my my two to even our local shops unless I have somebody to hold them for me, you hear so many stories about dogs going missing its just not worth the worry. |
I wonder how long it will take before that ladies' luck runs out? I'd never take Tuffy somewhere I wasn't sure he could go inside with me. Some people! |
I don't even like to leave mine inside their pet taxi locked safely in the car! If I can't take them in with me, I leave them at home. When traveling, DH and I eat fast food and take turns going to the restroom, etc. |
No one should leave a dog unattended in a public area. Sometimes they just forget the pet is there. I think this is why I treat them so well, they are defenseless to our stupidity. I'm going to tell you a story that will absolutely ruin your day and make you sign off for a while, so if you don't want to hear it click out of here now. I worked a long time for a Michigan company that had 18 plants at it's greatest point. There was a plant in Vancouver, Washington and I was there to install some new software and hardware. A cute girl in the office, her name was Holly, struck up a conversation and from then on we were friends (just friends). About a month later she called me at 7am Detroit time. Vancouver is 3 or 4 hours behind us here so I thought it was strange that she was calling so early. She was crying hysterically. Now this is the bad part-- she had just bought a new truck and a new puppy. She was sobbing as she told me that she went to the store, and didn't want the puppy to mess in her new truck. So.... she tied his leash to her back bumper. And forgot. At this point I hung up and was sick all over my desk. Hug your little ones. |

How horrible!!! I can't imagine!! If you didn't want your new baby to mess in your car would you leave them tied to the back bumper too?????:eek::eek::eek: People are idiots sometime! Back to the OP, I never leave Sophie unattended. She's either on her leash that I'm holding, in my arms, or someone I trust is holding her. |
