OMG just shoot me now! Okay, so I was going over the vet's bills for Lupo, and noticed that without asking me, they gave me a seniors discount!?!?! What's wrong with that you might ask? I'M 49!!:confuse8: I'm now saving up for a facelift! STAT! |
Oh, I feel for you!!! Last year someone asked me if I was my mom's sister, she is 59 and I am 34, I felt horrible, but my mom loved it!!! Atleast you did get a discount, look on the bright side I guess, right? |
I'll admit I'm sitting here chuckling about this! If it makes you feel any better, DH and I were at McDonald's 18 years ago and the kid asked DH if he got the senior discount...and at that time he was 37!!! He wanted to dye his gray hair after that:D At least they gave you a discount, right? :heart to |
Hey, I am just happy anytime I get a discount! |
Congratulations and Welcome to the Seniors Discount Club. I just got my AARP card. |
OmG that is so funny. I'm 49 and going to be a granmother in feb. How can that be? be happy with the discount!!!:) |
Thanks guys for putting it in perspective!:) It's nice to know I'm not the only one that has had this kind of experience... honestly tho, my mom always said never congratulate someone you think is pregnant, and never ever try to guess someone's age!!! at least they didn't think i was old and pregnant! lmfao:D dh felt the same way about the discount! still starting the facelift fund tho!;) |

Seriously tho, you'll wonder what you did b.g. (before grandkids), they are so great!:D |
Boy, being 56 with 6 kids, 16 grandkids and 1 great..........I can use all the discounts I can get......esp. at Christmas. They should give an extra discount for being greatgrandparents.........maybe like senior oldsters. LOL |
Grab all the discounts you can--old, pregnant, whatever works!!!:D |
My husband and I like to go listen to a local band in town sometimes, and I started tipping the doorman to card me! LOL! ;) (47 here) |
HAHAHA!!! When I was 18, people asked if I'm over 30 and they wondered if I have kids! I just didn't understand what was wrong with these people, I didn't think I looked like a lady who's over 30 with bunch of kids...imagine, I was only 18! :( But now I really look like 30 :p |

I tried to get a senior citizen discount at one of the grocery stores here while doing the self check-out. When the prompt asked "Do you quailiy for a senior citizen discount?" I pressed YES! The manager looked at me and asked for my ID. He said that I didn't qualify.:( I asked why..I then told him that I get AARP!!  He laughed and said I had ten more years before I would qualify. (I did get my discount at IHOP and was very happy). The more I save on myself, the more I can spend on Prince!:) |

Aww. I don't know what is worse, people thinking you are older or way younger. I am 18 but everyone thinks I look like I am 12. I even had a customer come in at my work and ask me, "Who is your mother or father? I didn't know it was take your daugther to work day!" ...:blush08: I will greet people coming in to the store and I will hear people whisper among themselves: "Why is that little girl talking to us?" This is a daily occurence! "Wow, how old are you?" "Umm.. I'm 18." "You don't look a day over 12." People keep telling me that one day I will appreciate it.. I am still waiting for that day! But just like your senior discount.. I could probably sneak in the movies and get the child price. ;) |
Oh dear! I am sorry, but thanks for the chuckle this morning! |

That's nice your vet gives senior's discounts. Take it and run!:p Don't be insulted enjoy it instead. Every little bit helps. I wish my vet did that. I recently got my senior card for county parks and recreation in my area. Along with this card came a book showing all the discounts being offered from various local stores to seniors who show their cards at time of purchase. I was so excited to see our pet store listed and it showed a 10% discount. Wow, I thought, I'm in there every week and spend lot's of $. Well, I went in soon after needing treats and food and got the nerve to show the card at the check out counter. Leave it to me to get a reduced discount from 10% to only 5 % instead. They stated they have lowed it since the book came out:( I don't know if the darn $2.50 was worth the embarassment of showing the card and getting told the discount had been lowered! I haven't used it since. It's probably worth nothing now, that was 4mos ago:p I never heard of a re-duced discount:confused: |
Hey I get a senior discount at Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds. I really don't care what they think about me. I'm just glad to get the discount.:) |
