Prayers please for a successful spaying tomorrow I know several people have asked for prayers, but I am feeling so nervous tonight. I believe in the power of prayer, so please, if you have a moment, please say a prayer for my little girl. Sydney is getting spayed tomorrow. I drop her off at 8 a.m. and I don't pick her up until about 4 or 5 tomorrow afternoon. I am thinking I'll keep my jammie top with her so she has something familiar. Question: The vet told me, but is it no food, treats, AND water after midnight? Can you tell I'm anxious. I know spayings happy everyday, but this is the first time for us. Please keep us in your prayers. Sincerely, Sonya |
Of COURSE I extend Sydney and yourself my thoughts and prayers for her spaying tomorrow! I have Zoey scheduled in a couple of weeks and they told me no food after 10pm (tho I know most say after midnight) but that water was okay. |
Our thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow. Just try and relax. I know that's impossible. |
Will say a little prayer for Sydney, I am sure she will be just fine!! Bailey was neutered and I was told no food or water after 8pm. |
Thank you for the replies. I knew I could turn here for encouragement. We've been playing and resting tonight. I just know she's going to give me those sad eyes when I drop her off that say, "Mom--how could you?" |
Prayers coming your way. My Willow will be spayed after the holidays and I'm scared to death even now thinking about it. When Chloe was spayed I think she couldn't have food or water, at least that is what I remember. Best of luck to you. |
Thank you, Camile. I'll let you know how it goes. I have a couple websites open on how to care for her when she comes home. I am wondering if she will have to return to have stitches removed, or will she get the dissolving ones. Her last drink for the night and treat will be at 8. |
Prayers coming your way!!!!! |

We'll keep Sydney in our thoughts and prayers. Maggie May also had about 4 teeth removed at the time of her spay. She was in a little bit of pain the night of her spay but once she got some pain meds, she quieted right down. She kinda kept to herself that night but by morning she was a bit more social although still a little quiet. By the next day she was back to her ol' self pretty much. :) Don't be shy about asking the vet for pain meds. Also make sure to ask if you can give her some the same evening...we had to call and wait to hear back from the vet. Maggie had the dissolving type of stitches so we didn't have to go back to have them removed. Sidney will be just fine. :) Hugs. |
Sending prayers your way Sydney:animal-pa. I was nervous when Sophie was spayed, too. Everything came out fine as I'm sure it will for your little girl. Sophie was good to go in about a day and it was hard to make her rest. I know tomorrow will be a long day for you but she'll be back in your arms in no time.:) |
I will be praying for Sydney. It is always scary when our little guys have to go through being put to sleep for surgery or dentals. I was that way when Bogie was neutered and when Jada had her dental in Oct. |
Oh, thank you everyone. You don't know what this means to me to have this forum at my fingertips. She's been losing several baby teeth and I was hoping they would fall out before tomorrow. Hopefully, the vet won't have to take many if any at all, and I hope he knows the difference between the baby teeth and the adult ones. |
I will keep Sydney in my prayers. |
Thank you, Patti. Syd is at the vet's. I can call to check on her at 2 this afternoon. They're running tests on her, like they would on people, prior to surgery to make sure she's healthy enough for anesthesia. The receptionist told me that three people had already canceled having their dog spayed today because they forgot and fed them breakfast. I put my jammie top inside her bag. I couldn't tell you who was shaking more, her or me. |
