Me myself, everything is black. :p Now that I think about it, you said Derby is 10 lbs? Uni is only 5.5, so she wouldn't be only one size down. If it weren't for your input, I would have just kept the 2s. thanks! :D

No problem! Personally I think I jut love talking about shoes all night!

Derby's colours are greens, reds, and blacks, and we were hoping his red "pimp" vest/jacket would fit (because he already popped out of his army coat), but the darn guy grew out of it! He is growing out of everything we bought him this fall... We thought maybe he was done growing at 7 pounds... HA! How dare I judge the Derbsters!

So my husband picked up an army coloured green coat on sale and said "That's it! he's not getting a cool jacket until we know he's fully grown..." It gets expensive keeping that guy lookin' good! LOL!

The black shoes are perfect. It keeps him "manly" according to my husband, and it matches his red hoodie and his green coat without being too flashy about it! (I Love red!).

Now only if I could get the grooming down....I'm trying!! Poor guy. Mu husband and I are struggling to agree on the "look".

LOL! My bf was the one that wanted Uni in the full coat! And I wanted her in the low maintenance puppy cut! I kept cutting her topknot and each time he'd be like "uh huh". Finally he told me to grow out her hair. (People STILL think she's a boy, even though I keep her with hair clips. Just b/c she's not dripping in pink...) Now that her hair is growing out, I'm obsessed with brushing her and all that good stuff. :)

I like the Epiks. I think I'm going to go ahead and get some for Odie and Tila both.
Thanks everyone.

I don't think Missy's 1 3/4, that may be a typo. That's way tiny!

Anyway, I'll check with the seller if they can exch them for a size 1 then. I think they offer exchanges.

Oops, you're right. That was a Typo. Missy is 3 3/4 lbs and fluctuates up to 4 lbs when she's eating too much homecooking. :p She is a size 0 though. I do think if the boots are twisting on you, they are too big.

Ya, honestly I like the red shoes but I just love red. I was so happy when I "won" and got a hoodie in red because they didn't have the black one in his size anymore! (he grew out it! suprise!)

but your husband wanting the full coat? That's surprising! My husband is all about SHAVE IT. SHAVE IT! and I'm struggling to find a happy medium. (he's always sneaking in a trim here and there!) Plus, Derby has a thin cotton coat that gets so ratty... I'm hoping eventually it grows out of that stage? LOL

and No, you would not find me putting my girl Yorkie in all pink. I love to be girly, and I love pink as much as the next girl-- but I have limits. Then again, I also wouldn't put Derby in all baby blues. It's along the same lines as the pinks to me....

I guess he wants her in a long coat b/c I do all the grooming! LOL Well he does it sometimes too, but I am the one brushing her throughout the day. Still can't do that dang topknot.

So about the shoes, we were playing with her today running around and she kicked both of them off! So for sure I am exchanging for size 1. So anyone out there, if they are in between sizes, size DOWN, not up.

Boo! They don't have the black in size 1! So should I get red or brown? I'm kinda leaning towards brown, but what do you think?

I prefer the red, but I guess it depends if you want the shoes to stand out or not.

capt_noonie 12-12-2009 04:58 PM

BF said he didn't want them to stand out too much, so it's gonna be brown. Red WAS my 2nd choice, ah well.

DerbyLayne 12-12-2009 06:35 PM

You know how I feel about red... I LOVE RED! but brown is cute too! It's earthy...

That's the problem with this time of year, a lot of things are going quickly as the weather gets worse and worse. Winter finally started here, and people are scrambling for their winter items-human or otherwise.

I got a pic of Derby in his shoes today (and his conehead lol), I'll post a pic shortly.

Here's the pics of Derby in his shoes.... from today!

His ears don't often stand- so it was cute to get a pic of them standing... He could kids playing, and he loves kids! He gets really excited. In the other photo he was begging not to go back inside... lol

capt_noonie 12-12-2009 07:08 PM

Oh Derby is so cute! I love how the shoes make them look! Like little tiny hooves or something. :)

I hope you dont mind but I thought Id post a few pictures of Buddy in his shoes. He loves them. I had to stop putting them on his cause he wouldnt go outside without them on. :)

Perrella 12-12-2009 07:53 PM

OMG....Derby & Buddy in their shoes is cracking me up!! Man, they do look so natural and comfy.

Ok...now, I just gotta get Zhoie a pair. Following all this...I get it that I need to get the correct size, so she's 4.5 lbs, I'm thinking she needs a 1 too.

Are they hard to put on....they have a zipper, right?

OMG Buddy is so awesome! Shoes, doggles, AND a topknot! What brand did you get on the shoes? I like how they are all black.

Well if you are getting the Epiks, yes they are zip front. Just stick their little feets in there and move the fur out of the way and zip it up!

I think on sizing you need to measure her paw print. Uni is 5.5 lbs, but she's really tall and her paws are really skinny. Missy is less than 4 lbs and she is a size 0. I used a see thru drafting ruler and measured the pad part only. Uni was exactly 1" wide. Size 1 was up to 7/8" and size 2 was 1 3/16" So I got size 2 which ended up being too big. So I guess go with what size is closer to the actual measurement, not up a size if she is inbetween.

If you do end up getting the Epiks, the link I posted on page 1 is the lowest price I've been able to find anywhere, and shipping is only $5.

Perrella 12-13-2009 04:35 PM

Thank you so much, I'm ordering now. Zhoie will be a sz 1 too, skinny legs and feet, like walking on twigs. LOL Thanks again!:D

What do they look like and what color did they come in. I have never seen them at walmart before. Today, I saw leg warmers there
