Reputable breeders NEVER breed for these little ones.I was told she was a teacup and the breeder I got her from just outside of Houston has been in the business for twenty years so I felt like I could trust her. She came recommended by a friend so I felt pretty good about her until I read some of these posts. Now I am reading there is no such thing as a teacup so I wondered if we had been duped. I think it is a term used to describe the size and that's all....not a breed name. ACA....You never know what you will get as you can register a door knob with these people if you just give them the money. But according to your post she could be a rat in a fur coat since she was registered with the ACA instead of your prestigeous AKA. I guess if that is where Jazzi has to be registered with to hang with you folks, then we picked the wrong forum. She certainly doesn't look like a door knob. She has one of the best vets around to care for her, thirty two years in specializing in small breeds, and my husband built her a mansion out of wood that any dog would want to live in. She is quite spoiled and very much loved no matter what size she is. Gee you folks in Lubbock are soooo nice!!!! |

She is beautiful!!! Yes, I am so pleased with Jazzi and she could be ten pounds for all I care. I love her so much now. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She has a different collar for each day of the week and matching barretts. I found some darling charms to hang from her collar too. One of them is a rhinestone bone, and one is a little pink purse. We just got her a car seat so she can sit up high in my convertible and let the breeze blow in her hair. I've started a scrapbook for her and my husband has built her a little mansion made out of wood. She has a matching gate to go with it that he made the next day. She has complete run of the kitchen while we are gone and the rest of the time she is on my shoulder. I think she believes she is a bird!!! |

There's no need to get angry. I was simply saying ACA is not a respected registry. I'm sorry you feel you were "dupped" by this breeder. It happens. Simple because someone has been breeding 20 years doesn't mean they are breeding to the standard and to improve the breed. It's sad so many are out there breeding for no other reason than the almighty $$$$$ and misleading people is of no concern to them. It doesn't matter in the least who you girl is registered with or she's registered at all or she's 3 pounds or 13. If you're happy and love her...that's what counts. I hope you do hang around here. There a lot of valuable information here. |
I'm not angry, just thought you were a bit rude. Whose says ACA is not respected. Looks to me like they have been around for a long time. I am very happy with my little girl and I could care less if she has a paper or not. I am going to register her with ACA anyway but I am not going to breed her so it really doesn't matter whether she gets registered or not. There are a lot of Yorkie forums with good information. Just looks to me like I picked the wrong one. Seems we don't measure up to your standards but that's okay. We have been through a lot down here on the Gulf Coast and it has just made us stronger. No hard feelings. We are all good here. |

The reason ACA is not a respected registry is b/c they do not ask for proof of lineage of your dog. They do not even ask for a photo to see if your dog looks like the breed you are registering it as. All the require is payment and you get your papers. Same thing with APRI, and I'm sure there's others I am forgetting. yes, ACA has been around for a long time, but it is b/c along time ago, certain breeders were not up to par according to the AKC so they formed their OWN registry. That is basically like, if I get kicked out of a mother club, I decide I just make my own, and make my own rules, or lack thereof. Just b/c I am around for a while doesn't make me credible, understand? The amount of breeders that have been kicked out of AKC keeps growing and growing, and where do they register their dogs? Places like ACA. Lots of us on here have dogs that are not AKC. But it is important to understand not to support these other registeries b/c it is confusing to the unaware public, who thinks papers are papers. |
How in the world do you post religion and then turn around and sell a pup for 4000 dollars. Greeders...http://www.yorkiebabiedolls.com/ |
Why on earth would someone want a dog that small!!! I have 2...one is just about 5 lbs and the other is 6 1/2 lbs and I worry all the time that they will get stepped or sat on...I couldn't even IMAGINE a dog that small.. |

I understand completely. If your dog is not AKC then they are not really registered by the main dog register. If I register Jazzi with ACA then I will get papers in the mail but they are just that...papers. I won't be selling or breeding her so I probably wont be getting papers for her anyway. I won't be showing her either...somebody has already asked if he could "show" her at a dog show. I said "no thanks"....I know she is beautiful because everybody on the street stops me to look at her. She is very tiny and has a beautiful face. She is going to be six months on the sixteenth and is a little over two pounds. She is the joy of my life. |

Plumeria - why ask a question only to get upset w/the answers? You asked a question, apparently got a response you didn't agree w/, then called an entire town rude  This type of 'false advertising' makes me SO angry, I created an account. How can these people breed such severely underweight dogs to create even *more* underweight pups ("teaspoon yorkie" sounds like a cutesy euphemism for the runts of the litter). Then, these 'greeders' (I like that term, BTW) have the nerve to attach religion to their blatantly nefarious breeding tactics... what hypocrites. How does religion tie in w/selling dogs, anyway  As far as I'm concerned, these people should be sought out & investigated, and subsequently shut down for abuse to animals if they are, indeed, breeding the runts, err, "teaspoons" of the litter and forcing an underweight mother into carrying pups in order to turn a quick profit. Guess they figure their belief in god will prevent them from the 9th level of hell :rolleyes: |
