Am I the only one!!! Am I the only one who comes home to a household of ripped up paper, tissue, toilet paper, reciepts, instructions, owners manuals, business cards, and whatever else they can get their gritty little mits on :p I swear my DH must hide these things because I always am getting on him for leaving papers around.. And to top their paper fetish off , they now have mastered climbing on top of the couch and doing a James Bond manuever onto the computer desk.. free papers for the taking!!!!! I came home today at lunch and a whole roll of toilet paper was shredded into a million little pieces under the computer desk and my husbands plastic cup was tipped over water everywhere and the straw was chewed on... it funny... sometimes.. but this is getting rediculous.. i was running short for time so I picked all of it up I could.. I am gonna have to vacuum when I get home  |
Oh my goodness... sounds like they have fun when you're gone!! :p Fortunately, Couver does not chew anything but pens and markers. I just have to make sure not to have any of these within his reach. |
chewing paper Belle loves paper, any kind of paper. My DH leaves his magazines down and it is so fun for her to start on one of those. Once in a while she'll come running out of the bathroom with a long stream of toilet paper following her. It's hard not to laugh sometimes because she knows she's being naughty. When I finally get close to her, she jumps up on the couch and sticks her head down between the cushions to hide leaving her little butt sticking up. I had a hard time trying to figure out where she was getting a book once in a while. We got a new couch and I didn't realize the back of it was so close to the book shelf. Belle was eating a book called "NO Bad Dogs" My Minature Schnauzer was the same way with paper. I think Belle does it because it's fun and she knows I'll probably chase her and she loves that. |
My Misty is a Princess with a capital P. She would never do something like that. Now Cassie, the Maltese, she has stolen a roll of toilet and run through the house, she's eaten magazines, she's my problem child. And they look and act so innocent. Monsters! |
Josh is a good and sweet boy. He loves to chew toilet paper and tissue. I am teaching him not to play with the toilet paper and tissue. He is getting better at not chewing those items. :) |
I am so fortunate that Missy doesn't do this. Hoping little Dora doesn't pick up that habit *knock on wood* |
What I enjoy and find funny about when that happens is when they come running to you acting like they did nothing wrong, yet the evidence is stuck in their beards. Priceless. :) |
 We haven't been able to keep TP on the TP holders in the bathrooms since we brought our sweet little paper thief home:rolleyes: |
We ALWAYS keep the bathroom door closed or they would be getting the TP for sure! They all like to shred paper, tissue, etc... Crosley has a thing for shoe inserts! She rips them out of any shoes she gets a hold of! She also has a thing for the remote control for the tv, I think it's because she doesn't want us to watch tv! Years ago, when I had my American Eskimo and he was a puppy. We came home and he had shredded 2/3 of the yellow pages, it looked like we had yellow carpet! Plus he had a whole roll of TP winding throughout the entire apartment! |
My three little rulers of all they survey, are quite selective in the paper that they chew and shred! When we were trucking they never once chewed or shredded a bill of lading, even when I left it on the floor, but every other piece of paper or tissue was fair game. I don't know how they could tell the difference between papers. More than once, I returned to a cab full of shredded paper and three very proud fur kids, and the only whole piece of paper in the truck were the bills of lading. Now we are off the highway, Sugar Princess, the Lhasa Apso, has not met a trash can that she can't conquer. She can even open a step-on can by herself. If I leave the trash can in her reach when I go out, or she is feeling ignored, Sugar heads straight to the trash can. At 15 yrs old she is still quick as wink. I can't make it across the room before she has the trash can open and is making a good start on spreading it around. Considering that it is maybe only 10 steps across the room, she isn't slowing down any. I have scolded her to no avail. She just looks at me as if to say, "This is your punishment, Mommy." Sugar is the most stubborn and self-willed fur kid I have ever come across. Unfortunately she is doing a good job of teaching the much younger Yorkies, (4 and 5 yrs) how to be little brats!:D |
Lucy, age 4 months, loves to chew paper of any kind. I work at home and would love to have her upstairs in my office with me - but she can't resist the files lying on the floor. She's eaten up business letters; folders, etc. When I pay bills (online); I throw my discards (envelopes and such) on the floor and clean up when I am done. She is in heaven when I do this and they are strewn all across the house by the time I'm ready to clean up! |
Toby was notorious for shredding anything resembling paper when he was younger, but then one day he just stopped. I'm hoping for the same with Lola but not optimistic. She's part goat, I swear. She will chew on anything, including wood furniture if given the chance. We came home Saturday to find she had unwrapped one of the presents under the Christmas tree. Now we keep the pen around it - something I NEVER did with my skinkids!! |
TP is the only thing Sandy will shred. We place the newspapers on the floor to potty train him. So far, he hasn't/doesn't do anything to those paper. I hope he won't! :D |
Yorkie's and paper just go hand and hand. Yes, I do believe most have a fetish for paper. Buddy loves, loves, kleenex! He knows how to go into every pocket I own, coats, bathrobes, sweats, etc and take it out then run like the wind to get away. LOL He's faster than a speeding bullet in the process and has it in his mouth before I am even aware he has it! |
These stories are CRACKING ME UP! HA HA HA Do you remember the movie "Gremlins"??? Better get one of those DNA tests for your pup!!! |
Hi Oh crickey...don't tell me about paper...any paper lol.."Dustie" has a paper fetish...in fact his favourites are tissues as well...you can bet if there is one lying around somewhere he will sniff it out (scuse the pun)..and run off with it and start to chew...catching him is ridiculous...seeing him with his mouth stuffed full of something is quite funny but getting him to give it up..Heck.!!! In fact if it will fit in his mouth he will put it there...anything..and I mean anything...Dustie by name..Dustie Bin by nature lol..!!! Chris x |
Oh yeah...I totally forgot to mention her tissue caper:yelrotflmSophie is an expert pick pocket. If I have a tissue in my bathrobe or pants pocket she can pick it out so carefully without me even noticing and then she prances away with her chin held high, then looks over her shoulder at me until I notice her and happily runs full tilt:yay_jump: with her nose pointed in the air. |
I know it's frustrating, but at the same time it's kind of cute. My poodle is the shredder. I'll come home and she'll have paper on her mouth. When I say something she just puts her little head down, so now I just laugh at her, and take the paper off. |
I guess I'm lucky! Fortunately, Jackson doesn't chew anything (when I'm not here!) He's totally trustworthy when he's left home alone and has never had an accident or done anything when by himself even as a little puppy. When we're here... that's another story. I'm constantly finding him with something! |
Yep, I own two "Canine paper shredder," too! |
I have a paper shredder as well, lol. It doesn't matter what kind of paper, if it's on the floor, or within his reach, it's fair game. The same goes for the kids' toys though. We've been on them for ages about keeping their toys off the floor in the rest of the house. In their rooms, I don't care as long as everything is put away before bedtime. They're finally starting to get it now that if they leave their toys out on the floor, Galahad is going to chew them up. We've thrown away several toys already. |
Yep me too. Nothing is safe within their reach, And Rosie will take tissues out of my pockets too. Though I think the queen of paper would of been my Poppy, her nickname was Poppy the pickpocket, as nothing was safe though she didn't desyroy it but investigate it. She was the same if I opened my purse, in would go her little nose and I swear she would count the money just to check I hadn't overspent. Little miser. |
Boy o boy! TP is the one thing all our furkids love! Never, never safe in our house! Kleenex in a box nothing, totaly safe! Coco used to love shredding fresh pee pads! That was expensive. Wifes slippers just get teased...They will grab one and make sure you see them with it then run off with it! Little imps! Nicky loves carpet underlay! I dont know how he gets to it but he still manages to get to it and we find little bits every where upstairs! Books and magazines not a problem....yet...nock on wood! We have 2 new pups so I am waiting to see what they can get into! |

..And he LOVES dryer sheets! Anyone else have this problem? He will jump into a hamper of clean clothes searching for the dryer sheet. Once he finds it he rips it to shreds! haha. Little brat! He doesn't really care about most paper, although he loves empty wrappers because of the crinkling noise they make! :jump28ib: |
chikito dog always have something in his bed, a rag, piece of papper or plastic, god knows from where he's getting this things..... if I leave the house for more than 8 hrs he would rip off the pe pe pad and anything he can reach, I have lost my iPhone hand free,a new book unread, a wii game, etc to him.....still love him to death:rolleyes: |

So I asked my husband before I vacuumed up the holy mess yesteday " Do you know where they got a whole flipping roll of toilet paper?" He said yeah, his gym bag. They seriously pilfered through his bag and got the roll out. They had also taken the rubber thingys off his ear phones and hid them ( brand new, good thing they came with spare ear plugs ) and his toothbrush holder with his toothbrush inside was across the room.. oh lordy.. I love them but they are so mischevious ...good thing my DH loves them as much as I do LoL |
1 Attachment(s) This was Uni's first night home. Take a look at what kind of paper she preferred back then! She cost enough of those to begin with, and now she wants to eat them! LOL Luckily she didn't really get into a habit of it. She did make off with a 20 once. What she loves now is chewing off all the price tags on all the stuff in the shop so I can't ever remember how much anything is! And she likes chewing on the plastic sensors. |
Chip did all that when he was a puppy, but not so much now that he's almost 3 years old (next month :( my baby's growing up). He'll get a moment every now and then - like yesterday my purse was beside me when I was on the computer and I looked down in time to see him sloooowly pulling a receipt out as he's watching me to see if I notice. I took it from him and as I'm trying to put it back, I see him reach in to try and pull something else out, the lil poopoo head! |
I have shredders also, but the yorkie is not the culprit! One day i came home to the whole phone book torn apart and all around the Lilo's doggy bed. i guess she was hungry and wanted to order a pizza! Triton has torn apart a few books in his day also. Anything he can find is fair game in his eyes!!! |
