do your yorkies follow you EVERYWHERE??? I recently started working from home so I guess I am just noticing it more. I cannot go into any room without my boys getting up to follow me. I could be sitting at my desk for hours and they are sleeping next to me, I get up to get a drink and they follow me. I go out to the garage to throw some laundry in and they follow, I go to the bathroom and they follow, I go get a drink and they follow. they are like my little shadows, it’s like they have to make sure I am not leaving them or sneaking away. It’s kind of funny, I feel kind of bad though they really don't get uninterrupted sleep with me home. do any of your yorkies do this? |
Like a shadow Zack is like my little shadow. He will even jump up into the chair and on my lap when I am at the PC. Zack and Zoey will visit me when I am in the bathroom. If I can watch them, they can watch me, fair is fair:D. Zeke's not as much a shadow but does like to be close, not following you around. |
All three of mine will follow me... even into the bathroom! They will just sit at my feet as if guarding me! It is too cute! Just proves there is nothing quite like the love of a Yorkie! |
Mine follow me everywhere in the house or the yard that I go, and I have six so sometimes I feel like the Pied Piper. If I do manage to get in the bathroom alone and manage to get the door shut they wait outside the door and stick their little feet under it. Where do they think I will go, there is only one way out. |
Yes! I love it though.. except when I am in the kitchen cooking and Marley is at my feet..cute little story.. sorry if its TMI...I use the bathroom in the hallway... well you can sit on the toilet and look into their room ( yes they have their own room LoL ) I have 4 potty pads laid out you can see ( Colt likes to walk and poop ) in a square... One day while I was ..ahem...goin to the bathroom I looked into their room and they got all excited watching me ...ahem... potty.. and they both started goin at the same darn time... it was a triage of pottiers lol I have never laughed so hard.. when they were done they came back to me and were jumping around like crazy.. as if you say " mommy good potty!!" |

Yes, Couver is my little shadow... sometimes I get worried when I can't find him. Usually I turn around and he is right at my feet! |
Follow the leader.... LOL, my two boys follow me all over the house I can't even go to the bathroom by myself. Good post....:animal-pa |

That is exactly what my boys do...I'm lucky if I go into the bathroom by myself! Wherever Mommy is, Joey and Tank feel they need to be there too. Sometimes they'll follow my husband around too, but with Mommy, it's a definite must. |
Pann follows me everywhere as well. When I take a shower he wants to get in the tub with me...Everyday!! and when he's not at my side I worry, bc most times it means hes getting into big trouble. |
OMG yes Lexi follows me EVERYWHERE like everyone said if they get up she's right there, but thing that trips me out is she think she knows my every move around the house meaning she walks in front of me and sometimes go into the other room and when I don't go in there she makes a quick u-turn, it's so funny. Travis is the same way but not as bad. |
Josh follows me everywhere. He is my little companion. :) Yesterday, I snuck in the bathroom. After a minute in the bathroom, I heard Josh sniffing at the door. I guess he found me. :D:D:D |
Yep, and the funniest is when I sit on the couch at the end of a long day and I'm instantly covered in children and pets. I love it! :D |
I can relate. I lived with my Aunt for 2 years an they' follow her to every corner of that house. It only frustrated her when she was trying to cook because the kitchen isn't big enough for two people to walk so having a furry friend in there at your ankles was a problem. Yorkies are like that thouge they follow you everywhere. I'm planning to get my first yorkie in the spring, if I can convince my landlord to allow a pet. |
My little Sandy follows me everywhere I go in the house! Last Sunday, Sandy was sleeping while I was here on YT, when I started wondering if he's already awake. I turned my head and there he was, sitting next to my computer desk and looking at me! I've no idea how long he's been there. I find that really cute! :) |
Gypsy follows me everywhere. At night if i get up to go to the bathroom, she has to get up and follow. The other 2 dogs will poke their head out from under the covers and watch. If hubby gets up, she will watch him but not get up. The funny thing is the bathroom opens up from the bedroom and i do not shut the door so she can see me from the bed if she wanted to. |
My two follow me everywhere too. They can be in a sound sleep and if I get up they get up. Bogie is a sneaky little fart..I can be looking for him and turn around he's standing right behind me looking up with those beautiful little brown eyes. You just gotta love it. |

Go to the bathroom or the bedroom by myself and close the door, I think not. All three of the little pills are right there scratching the door and crying pathetically. Good thing there is just the four of us, three fur kids and me, or I wouldn't have an unmarred inside door in the house! |
Sage follows me everywhere. The other night she was having a great time playing with my sister while I was on the computer. The minute I got up she dropped the toy and followed me into the bathroom. She doesn't get in the shower with me but sits right outside ans taps the curtain if I take to long. I too get worried when I can't see her cause that means she's done something. |
Nope, I get to take a shower by myself....sometimes. My DH says we look like troops....First me, then Rily, then Saydee, and sometimes Fancy brings up the rear! |
Alfie and Rosie follow me only in as much that they hope theres something in it for them. I go into the kitchen, they follow in the hope they might get some tidbit. If they get a chance to scoot upstairs its only because the toybox is up there and they try and nab another toy to destroy. The bathroom door in the entrance to doggy hell, although Alfie has decided if he gets in quick its over faster so will try and jump in, he's not quite big enough but bless him for trying. Both are happy to go sleep away from me and thanks to Ceaser Milans methods I can atleast sent them to go sit on the mat away from me in the kitchen while I cook. They're still there but not under my feet. |
She Certainly Does Bella is wherever I am. Any move to leave her immediate area and she is right there with me. I worry sometimes because she doesn't get much rest unless she is on my lap, napping. She is like a little furry shadow. |
I thought that mine was not a normal Yorkie. My little girl it's always following me to EVERYWHERE!!! When I'm making dinner she's under the cabinet looking at me, taking a bath she wait for me. And when I don't see her I'm scare. I just love it...:yorkiesar |
Yep! Everywhere I go, I have a parade of animals following me. My yorkie is the most persistant, she's always by my side. My golden retriever is 14 and she still follows me everywhere! I try to sneak away because her hips are getting bad and I wish she would relax instead of getting up everytime I do. |
Louis follows me everywhere. The other day I was cooking and he was trying to sleep on my slippers, while I was wearing them!:D If I get up, he gets up. Too cute! |
Mine are like shadows. If I don't watch where I'm going I'll probably land on the floor one of these days. |
My little girl, follows me to the bathroom and sometimes jumps in my lap. Yes while I'm busy. When I go out to my weight room she's there and when I do my ab work, she will jump up on the my lap or on my abs. It's to funny. Unfortunately I am home all the time which makes it harder on her when I do go somewhere. |
Mine follow me EVERYWHERE! Especially my little Lucy. Haha---- when I am home alone I will go pee with the door open and as soon as I go in there Lucy runs full speed and jumps on my lap. It is SO weird but it CRACKS me up. Hendrix is a little more independent..... but he is always within 2 feet of me :) |
oh- and when Lucy was a baby she would sit outside the shower and cry her eyes out until I would just take her into the shower with me.... yes, thats right, my dogs would rather sacrifice themselves to the shower gods then be without me! |
