i bet some sweet older lady is taking care of cookie, and just hasn't seen the lost posters yet. cookie is being taken care of. i just know it. :):) |
Identifying marks? I have been following this thread and like many hoped to see that Cookie had been found. Just a thought does Cookie have any unique identifying marks/scars/tattoos, etc?. If so that info might be good to share with vets, groomers etc. I think someone mentioned kids see lots - did you post pictures in the local schools? That's all I can think of for now. BUT please start eating - you've got to keep your strength and health up.!!! Gail in ontario |
I was really hoping to log on and see good news. Im sorry. Dont give up. Schools are a great idea. Also places like starbucks, pizza places or fast food places. Wallmarts, or drug stores. Places alot of people go. You can also send a picture from your phone to all your contacts and ask them to send pics to their contacts. I will continue to pray for a happy ending. |
Search this thread; I found it in one of the forums. You've already done lots of these things but there are some other ideas How To Find A Lost Dog or Lost Yorkie |
You are doing a great job. Your posters are terrific! Kids and schools are a good idea. Hope your baby is found soon! |
My daughter asked the principle permission to post flyers around the school. There are about 1,400 students in that school. She's putting flyers through out the school including cafeteria. They did not give her a limit to how many flyers, he just told her to do it before class starts. We met an animal control officer and she knew about Cookie before I could talk. She asked " Were you the one that posted onCraiglist about your yorkie?? So people are becoming aware.I just got a call from a local vet asking what is Cookie's chip number. They thought they had cookie and were matching up numbers but they said it did not match. I'm still going to that clinic as soon as I post this.So I can personally ID him. These are the things I've done so far: Alerted AVID ID -microchip so his chip will scan as lost dog Called our vet and gave her a flyer gave several vets our flyer Called Humane Society Called shelters Amber Pet Alert was ordered Picture Ad in Newspaper Over 600 flyers have been posted on stop signs, stores Reported him lost to Yorkie Rescue in FL Youtube Video alerting people he is missing Knocked door to door to my neighbors Spoken to kids in the area and let them know I am offering money for his return I printed out over 200 flyers in my printer before ink faded Ordered 1,000 color flyers |
I logged in first thing this morning, hoping for good news. i'm so sorry he is still not home. Saw the video though. You did an amazing job. I'm still sniffly after watching it a couple of times. You are doing great Gen. Keep it up. And please make sure you take care of yourself along the way too. Cookie needs you to be strong so you can keep going. Try and eat, I know it's easier said than done but try, for Cookie. You and cookie are in my thoughts. |
You sure have covered every angle in looking for your girl. I hope someone has seen her and calls you. Will continue to pray for Cookie's safe return. I was hoping she was found.:( |
Gen, someone on maltesetalk suggested this: This really is heartbreaking! Do you know if she has contacted local news agencies? I know there is a TV station in West Palm Beach, I bet would do a story on Cookie being missing. WPBF always seems to care so much about missing pets. i know people here have already suggested TV stations too, but I thought I'd throw this one at you too. |
That's a great idea. Incredible exposure - Gail in Ontario |
OK thought of something else Hi Gen, I m just wondering if you or your neighbours have a raised porch/balconey and also garages. Sometimes these little ones if scared can hide under or in things. Although that seems to be more a cat trait-though. We lost our Karma for four whole days and were desperate. But good news is on the 5th morning he came meowing up the porch. I still think someone had him because it rained for 3 out of the 4 days and he arrived on our porch dry as anything!. All those posters and door to door really do work. People in the neighbourhood and beyond have been alerted. I've lit a candle and you and yours are in my thoughts for a speedy return of Cookie Gail in Ontario |
Jen, My heart goes out to you. You, your family and especially cookie are in my familys thoughts and prayers. I hope you find cookie soon. And as mentioned in a previous post, try to take care of yourself during your search. |
i wish i could help im keep hoping that ill come on and hell be found and at home safe and happy |
I posted your amber alert poster on maltesetalk too, on Cookie's thread (he has his own thread over there). Hope that's ok with you. |
I am going to call the west palm beach tv station. People are looking I know it. I got a call this morning at 8 am from a vet who had a Yorkie come in that was lost. She did not want to wait to get it scanned before calling me . She said to fax a picture also. My fax does not work so Idrove over there with a flyer and chip# It was not him. As soon as she saw Cookie's pic she got very emotional since he is so small. I know all moms feel their Yorkie is adorable but Cookie really is a tiny little teddy bear when you see him. I've gone to 8 vet clinics so far this morning. I talked to them. Let them see my face and tears and begged them to PLEASE scan a new patient. They told me they dont scan unless theperson says its a missing dog they found but....Now that they have his picture and know he is sick they will ask more questions and take any info down. A slight lead... Sunday when we ran out searching. There were some kids in the block behind us and my husband asked them if they saw a little dog running and oneof them replied " Oh the people in this house just found a dog" My husband did not make any connection since they didnt say its a small dog or yorkie. I have talked to them. My husband is a total wreck over this and his boss sent him home today. He is not coping well. He feels that there has to be something he can do to get him back. He's already told me if for any reason he sees Cookie in a door window or looking through a window that my husband will take him and ask questions later. he will call the cops of course but he will NOT sit there and wait. The house behind us has 2 large dogs but his girlfriend does not live there so .. I'm grasping at straws here....if they did find it , he may have given it to her. I'm off to call the west palm beach station. Wish me luck Gen |
