being new to the breed i never did know that "tea cup" was a term used by breeders to make more money but now everytime i take Hemi out people are like awww is he a tea cup? now it just annoys me. and thanks to this site i get to inform them that there is no such thing and that its a ploy to make people spend more money. thanks for the education guys :) |

Maybe you could call him a "tea Cart" :D |
That's what the question strangers ask about Buster, "is a teacup". I too, tell them the same thing you tell them. Most of them look at me in disbelief. Quote:

OMGosh Tammy, Harley is soo cute! 'Keg' totally cracked me up! Hehee! |

Before he passed (at the ripe old age of 15) my Westie would weigh in at about 30 lbs. The breed is supposed to be 15-18 lbs.. We would tell folks he was a new breed: Westie Giganticus :D We loved that beastie to pieces ... there wasn't a kinder soul put on Earth. With the bigger guys, there's just more to love ... Harley is beautiful, a very handsome guy. In this instance (at least!) size doesn't matter one iota. |
Tammy, Harley is a cutie. There is just more of him to love. :) |
Teapot Ha ha. My is too big for a teapot. She's a beer keg. LOLOL. Weighs in at 19 pounds. Elaine |

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/2878098-post20.html Here are some more pictures where you can truly see how much bigger he is than my other guys. Harley is 23lbs.(although, his weight will range from 22-24), Livi is 5 and a half, Huckleberry is 4 and a half and Izzy is a little less than 9 and a half. Tammy |

Here's Jackson (almost 13lbs) next to a 4lber. |
It's not just Yorkie breeders who try to take advantage of people by advertising puppies as a "teacup" and charging more. I was waiting for my groomer with a man who had a toy poodle. We know each other slightly so we were chatting and he said his poodle was a teacup. Years ago I had a "tiny toy poodle" and since then I have learned that there is no such thing, poodles come in 3 sizes: standard, miniature and toy. As far as I know Yorkies only come in one size and that is "toy". |
