Anybody in or near Erwin, Tennesee? Some of you may know, I've been searching and searching for a brother for Jackson. :) I've found so many good dogs on PetFinder.com, a few of them being a bit far away. I've also been researching puppies and breeders, but in my heart, I do feel like I should rescue. Does anyone live near Erwin, TN? And would be willing to check out this dog for me? Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Harley: Petfinder It would mean A LOT to me! In the mean time, I am going to e-mail them and find out more info, but I'd like first hand experience with him from a fellow YT'er :) It would be nice if I do find out he's a good match, or they email me back, approve me, whatnot, if a "train" could get going to get him to me. He's about 8 hours away from me according to Mapquest. Obviously, this is all thinking far advance, but I wanted to see if anyone was willing. |
He looks cute:) Where is Erwin? We have lots of YT Tennessee members in east TN. Is it close to Knoxville? or Chattnooga? |

I just googled a map. Erwin is on the North Carolina - Tennessee border. Someone from NC might be able to help better than someone in TN. Did you post on the regional board too? |
I live in Erwin Tn. I am about 5 miles from the shelter. I will make some calls and see what I can find out, if you would? |

Update Well because of the holiday they are closed, but forgetting it was a holiday I drove by. They have inmates that do the cleaning. One let me in and he is there. He was dropped off on Monday in the drop off box with a note. His family was moving and could not take him. He is 2yrs old and weight is about 10-12ibs I'm guessing. Not for sure on that part. They said he likes to go outside to potty. He seem to be very friendly. He would stand on his back legs and wave with both of his front paws. It was the cutest thing ever. |
Awwww, he's a handsome boy! Doesn't look like a mix to me. The shelter is normally closed Wednesday and Thursday so I don't think you will get a response until Friday. The waiting will be agonizing! |

He looks so happy in the picture. I'll bet he has a wonderful disposition. If he is a mix, he definitely has a lot of Yorkie in him. |
I uploaded the video that Jeannine sent me: (Warning: it's loud) There's also a video of him on the PetFinder. He just seems sooo perfect. Jeannine has been so helpful with this whole thing. If everything works out properly, we'd love to get him neutered on Friday and then I could pick him up this weekend or this upcoming week. Jeannine (lelemommy) is willing to drive half way but it would be nice if we could possibly split it up with more people. Ideally, it would be cool if I could drive 4 hours (he's about 8 hrs. from me now). Roanoke, VA looks like the middle point between Erwin, TN and Annapolis, MD but I'm terrible with geography. If anybody is willing to help this dog (and me!) out, it'd be amazing. I'm trying to just get my head together and get a plan going, which I'm terrible at doing. |

Brit he is so cute....Im keeping my fingers crossed that Jackson gets his rescue brother soon. Did you start a new thread with the inbetween place you are trying to get someone to help with the train? you may get a better response. |

Brit, He looks like a very good match for Jackson! I'm so excited for you. If I lived closer to I81, I wouldn't mind helping Jeannine get him to Roanoke. I know there are some members that live around Wytheville, VA. You might do a member search by location or zip code and PM some of them. Good Luck! :) |
Alright, Jeannine is willing to drive to Roanoke :) I will gladly drive to Roanoke (almost 5 hours) to meet her but if there is someone else willing to bring him a bit closer, it'd be helpful too. |
