Jersey Broke His Leg!!! My poor baby broke his leg, he was playing at the neighbors with his buddies pookie and Max and he decided to jump through the railing on the deck about 4 ft. Dh was with him, I was in our house and did not see or hear anything. DH said Jersey was screaming. We took him to the vet (our vet is the greatest) he x-ray and confirmed it is fractured, he splinted it and tomorrow we are taking him to an orthopedic to have it set. Poor baby looks so sad. So we get back home and try to put him down to pee and what does he try to do? He starts growling at a dog next door like he is going to chase it!!!! At least that made feel confident that he is going to be OK:animal36 |
Oh No! That is my greatest fear (well....one of them ) I wish Jersey a speedy recovery ;) |
So sorry to hear the news. Hoping for a speedy recovery. |
So sorry to hear Jersey got hurt, praying that he is better real soon give him a big hug for me |
Oh no! Poor Jersey! He is really PO'd at the neighbor dog huh? He sounds like a tough little guy. Hope he has a full and speedy recovery! |
:getwell:Jersey boy, you poor baby . |
Oh poor Jersey! I am so sorry that happened to him! My Lexi jumped through the railings on my parent's deck a couple weeks ago. It was about a 6-8 foot fall!! I was in a panic. I put a gate up so they couldn't go down the steps, so she just jumped!!! I couldn't believe it. I took her straight to the vet cause I just new it had to of broken SOMETHING and she was limping a little bit. By the time the vet saw her, she wasn't limping any more and after a thorough exam, she was fine! I swear an angel was watching over her! |

WOW! 6-8 feet??? Sugar misjudged and slid off from the leather couch side arm onto the TILE FLOOR yesterday.....(about 2~3 feet) and I PANICKED! Not a whimper out of her though...Thank God! |
I hope your baby gets well quickly! Sounds like he's one tough guy. lol :) |
Oh, dear. Poor Jersey. I am so glad you are taking him to an orthopedic vet, though. |
He is a tough little guy I still can't belevie this happened. I am worried cause he hasn't peed since around 12.00 today and when we put him down he just dosen't know what to do. Right now he is laying on the couch with DH right next to him we are not taking any chances of trying to get down on his own.:animal36 |
poor baby.. I hope he feels better soon |
Unfortunately it doesn't take much for these little guys to get hurt. I hope Jersey feels better soon! :( |
Bless his little heart. Prayers for a quick recovery. |
:nursing: I'm so sorry to hear about your little guy. That is so scary. Sophie has taken a tumble or two and I'm amazed she hasn't broken something. :getwellsolittle Jersey Boy!! |
Sending prayers for good healing, sorry this happened.. |
Oh...poor little fellow, hugs & kisses to the little dare devil. Agree, it's one of my greatest fears. I'm fortunate I believe, Zhoie doesn't jump, keeping my fingers crossed, she never will. Get well soon Jersey!!! :( |
Oh, Poor Jersey!!! A broken leg is the worse! I worried so over Bijou's when she broke her's. My heart goes out to you as it was such a miserable time keeping Bijou down, I really feel for what you're going through. Bijou had to have surgery and was to be crated for 4 weeks with her only being aloud out for potty and meal breaks. I couldn't follow that and held her a lot. Now she's a little firecracker. She can jump up onto the couch (what she fell from that caused her broken leg) and jumps down before you can get to the couch and get her. I swear the little thing's trying to give me a heart attack. (((((((((((Hugs))))))))))) and prayers for a speedy recovery. Please, let us know what the ortho has to say tomorrow. |
We are sending prayer to little Jersey. I fear the jumping from stuff more than anything. I swear these little guys just do not fear anything. Hoping for a speedy recovery.:getwell: |
Sending prayers to little Jersey for a speedy recovery. I think we all fear our little guys jumping and breaking something. These little guys have no fear of anything. Hoping Jersey feels better soon.:getwellso |
thank you everyone for all the well wishes we really do appreciate all the support. |
Oh poor baby:( I am sending healing vibes...... Poor mommie too! Our babies show no fear at times. I think we are the only ones that realize how precarious their health is. I am always fussing at my DH and DS not to play so rough with Bonnie:mad: |

I blame most of this on myself, I knew she wasn't healing. I should have done my homework, found the best ortho and took her in early. Instead I listened to the advice of a hometown vet. Newt is doing well with three legs, but she did much better with 4! |
Oh poor Jersey! I hope he gets well quick! I am going to hurry up and order one of those cone thingys, so I have it on hand, my baby jumps like a wild thing! |
