| I'm very overprotective about my baby yorkie Marley my baby yorkie is my first dog. I love him so much! I buy him a lot of toys, i get him the best food I can find. some people think I'm over exaggerating but I see him as my child. Do you think it's normal? do you spoil your baby? |

| overprotective mommy Oh my god, I am just like you. Maybe worst, my family things i am going crazy. I had never had a dog before, never wanted one, my son insisted for 10 years, I finally got him a Yorkie. Chewy came when he was 3 weeks old. I didn't even know how to carry him. I take him to the vet. for the slighest thing, I buy him lot's of toys. He has only the best puppy food. He is already 7 months old and I am still paying for puppy daycare because I refuse to leave him alone. He has not stayed alone, once! I act like he is my new baby, he's so active, I am afraid he will get in trouble by himself. I don't ever use a crate for him, although I know some people like it. I have him in classes, I dress him, I bathe him weekly, he smells sweeter than many humans! He has to get lot's of exersice so I take him out on long walks every day and play with him. It's no longer my son't dog! |

| My first 2 yorkies were very well taken care of. They had special needs and we were very over-protective. When they passed last fall, I was so broken hearted. Now that i have Frankie, I think he is more spoiled. We are middle-aged--no children at home. I think we treat him more like a grandchild. He can do no wrong. We are better dog parents now. He is better behaved than the others. We are calm and our house isn't crazy anymore. He responds to a calm voice. We never have to yell at him for anything. He is disciplined, but in a very soft way. He is a very happy guy and we are too.

| And so what??? who cares!!! Guilty here!!! I took Lola to the vet yesterday for her heartworm meds and shots and he asked what kinda food is she on which I told him..well then he said that dog food is "over-rated" and that as long as the bag says premium on the back of it then that should be good enough. This is what her breeder had her on so I just continued with it since this is what she knows!!! I said well it's not a financial problem or an inconvinience for me to get her what she likes even if I have to go out of town for it!!?!! (BTW--I drive 30 miles one away to go get it for her..lol..).Then DH thinks that I put her first most if the time...well if she could talk and was capable to fend for herself then I wouldn't have to do as much for her...secretly I really LOVE to spoil her though..hehe. I think that people who really appreciate their furbutts come to understand the bond you have with them-even if others don't see it as "normal". But there again So WHAT!! WHO CARES...I love'r to itsy-bitsy pieces and will continue to do whatever I want to make her happy--it makes my heart melt when I do

| Ah, yea, Jack is a bit spoiled. I just started him on Halo food, he has his own little puppy blanket. Is not alone most of the time (has been left alone two times for about two hours each time), he sleeps in bed with us, I brush him daily and give him a full grooming once a week. We have him pad trained so he won't have to go outside this winter. He also has some of the best clothes and I believe his winter jacket is nicer than mine. But I love him like he's my baby. My DH, I think, gets jealous because I usually greet Jack first when I get home from work. LOL
