I wish I had known about you when I was in so much stress trying and begging my breeder to hold the puppy that I had a deposit on until she was 2 lbs. She insisted on shipping her from Florida to Texas at 19ozs, so I backed out of the deal. I had always had such a bad feeling about that breeder (she was so sweet until I sent the deposit, then the rest of the 3 months, she was a nightmare). I finally got a Biewer after months and months of searching and she arrived last Wed. at 2.8 lbs. Every time I see a (hope I spell this right) Mardelin post....I always learn something.

Don't beat yourself up....all has turned out well. We've all been down that road.....yes, even me. I did everything wrong the first couple of times. I wasn't showing or breeding at the time, so I can thank goodness for that. But, my first yorkie was purchased from a breeder out of the newspaper (although, she led me to the Regional Club in Dallas), brought her home at 8 weeks of age, with Coccidia and the 2nd I bought at the Flea Market, horrible knees, no contract. The 2nd one was AKC registerable on an open registration, but because of questionable parentage were revoked.....just one thing after another. Could you imagine if I had set out to breed with these 2 girls........what I mess I would have been in.

well even if shes still that tiny at 11 weeks i would not bring her home trust me my coby weigh 1.07 lbs and he was beyond sick he was 9 weeks when i got him oz is nothing i would never get another young yorkie like this again under 2lbs its alot of worry and work still is

I call them Dinky Do Nothings.... not a bad term, but a term my breeder started because they can't be shown or bred. At best all we can do is place them in a qualified home.

I hope it works out for you I really do. Just because it eats for the breeder doesnt mean it will eat for you. It is alot of stress on them when they go to a new home. I am bottle feeding and force feeding can cat food right now to an 8 oz kitten. It isnt easy. Just keep her eating like every 3 hrs or she could go down. Best of luck

Too Cute.

Have you asked about an Open Fontanel? Usually happens in small breed tinies.

i agree with chachi i mean i think you need too look at my posting and you'll see all the problems coby had he was no where the size of your pup, i wouldnt want a dog that small scary...:confused: but thats just me,that pups too small..your going too have too be home 24 hr watch,you can read my posting and what i went through when i became a new
yorkie parent,my dog got sick because of his size, also thoughs tiny yorkies dont seem too be able too do as much for there self because there so small under developed, if step on :( i wouldnt want a pup under 2 lbs when coming home

ok, I get it everybody, there MAY be problems with such a small yorkie, however you don't decide who or what you fall in love with, she stole my heart, I could have chosen the brothers or one of the other hundreds I looked at but she chose me and I chose her, maybe because she knew I would know how to take care of her, and just like a premature baby I did'nt turn my back on her (worried about health problems or even death) I will fight for peebles just like I would for a child. So lets just close this thread and we can enjoy our pets.

No one is telling yhou not to get her. We are just asking that you wait a bit longer.

Every person on here that has suffered a tragedy with their new baby felt that they were qualified to care for them.

those tiny ones can go so fast. In just a few hours they can be gone.

What most concerns me is your breeder allowing you to take a puppy that tiny. if she is irresponsible in that respect, in what other ways might she be irresponsible.

I just called a buyer this morning and asked if she minded if I kept her little guy for 2 more weeks because he is so tiny. She was very happy that i was concerned for him.

We are just concerned. That's all

Just wanted to say congradulations!!!!!!!! But like others have said PLEASE PLEASE read up on hypoglycemia....... I have had several episodes with my little one and it is very scary and dangerous for them!!! If you have questions everyone on YT is so nice and helpful . WELCOME:)
