That is a thought. |
i just went threw a similar problem and my area humane society the adoption fee is only like $50 so when my foster had her puppies i started advertising them at 6 weeks as wonderful small family dogs and had a flood of responses for mom and pups i didn't include a price instead i asked the people if they would like to pay for the vet and shots and worming and everything so they didn't feel like they wear wasting there money i had 2 family's take me up on the offer the other 3 just paid the 100 bucks either way i made the family's wait a week before they took thear pup home and i made them sign a contract about vet care and spay/neuter |
you might put up a listing in the for sale listings on this website. i think 150 is actually on the cheap side myself. |
omgosh if dh would let me i'd love to have the black female, she's precious!! |

hey girl is all in the marketing, I am a marketing and sales major.. start your ads as... DESIGNER DOGS, is harsh but in this day and age is the right wording that sells.. I sold 2 of my 4 yorkie Jacks as Designer Puppies, I got $500.00 for the girl and $450.00 for the largest boy, my son's fiance's mom got one and we kept the runt. best of luck with your babies.. hugs, Carmen in nj |
PLEASE don't try to sell them as Designer Dogs! That only perpetuates the frame of mind that people are cross breeding for. PLEASE just state that you're only asking for the cost of shots and spay/neutering. Most people will look at the price a lot differently. Yes, keep the cost in line with what the adoption fees are in your area. Remember, you may not be able to recoop the money you have invested in them - but then you kind of knew that. You sound like a very special lady who did a wonderful thing. I think you know that just finding the "right" home for these adorable babies is the most important thing. The babies are "adorable" - Thanks for the pictures! Best Wishes... |

Most muts go for 50.00 here in Texas. Only the shelters and rescues ask for more because of covering their expenses. Unfortunately asking 150.00 or more is not going to guarantee a good family home, either. Look at all of the Yorkies that people probably paid 1000 for that ended up in shelters. |

I don't think the 150 is an unreasonable price at all. These people that are saying it is too expensive, really aren't taking into account how much a pet can be |
I paid $300 for the one I just adopted. I think $150 is VERY reasonable. When you list them, explain why you are charging $$ for them. You shouldn't have to but some people may not realize what went into these puppies and will be a lot more understanding. |
Your price is more than reasonable. If someone wants one for free than that's not the home they belong in. A truly interested party would pay the asking price or at least make you an honest offer. Keep them safe, hold out for a decent price. Asking for vet reimbursement thus far is being honest and should also be accepted by any one interested. They are truly adorable. Christmas is coming be careful of anyone buying one as a christmans gift because poor baby just may wind up in rescue or the pound as many unwanted Chrismans pet's do. Good luck, I love them all, |
Boy I don't know how breeders do this littter after litter. I feel so responsible for their well being that it just kills me to think of them being abused or taken to the pound. I just wished I could keep them all. I am very picky about the home that they will be placed in. I havae even refused family members a puppy because I don't trust them. In the past they had dogs and then they were gone. They think of them as disposable.:( It is amazing the difference in mentality. I think of them as my family and probably hold my furbabies with higher reguards then most of my family. I just pray that the perfect families will adopt my babies. |
